Sony started it on the PS2 and now they'll be getting bullied by someone with more money than them. 

Just to clarify I don't think this "news" is true btw but Microsoft will money hat some "exclusives" this gen.

Seriously... The point is that Microsoft had plenty of studios, yet they didn't pump out any games. They threw their money at third parties for irrelevant timed exclusivity. For gamers, that's not really good. Microsoft might have made people go to the 360 instead of the PS3 in the early days of the generation because of those business decisions (which is good), but in the end, that left the 360 with not that much to differentiate itself from the competition as far as content is concerned, since there were very few exclusive games. The last 2 years of the console have been really thin as far as exclusive games are concerned. And a lot of people jumped ship. 

If this really changes for the NextBox, and their newly created studios really create great and hopefully new experiences, it will be really great for us gamers. But until we get any tangible infos, some of these studios could have been built to create more Kinect centric casual stuff. I hope that's not the case. Because if Microsoft can manage to ensemble other studios of the caliber of 343, but for entirely new IPs, their next platform will be really interesting to see grow and flourish. As was the case for Sony with the PS3.

Throw this under the bullshit rumor list with zero credibility. Timed EA exclusive titles? Not going to happen. Timed DLC maybe but I can 100% guarantee there won't be timed exclusive titles. EA isn't going to throw away any money. If the timed exclusive dlc shit is true though, wow Microsoft is fucking lazy. Timed exclusive shit won't help them out in the long run. It's pointless.

Early DLC is no big deal for me. But actual games are

As a PS/PC player if I have to wait weeks or months to purchase a game from EA after Xbox, I rather not purchase the game at all. It's EA anyway so all I'm missing out on is microtransactions

If it happens like the article seems to say it will, I won't buy EA games

Look at the sales after Kinect released,a lot of people jumped ship?more like a lot of people jumped in,and 2009 was the year of fewest exclusive games for 360,not 2011 or 2012

nah i'm talking about the games that are exclusive for 3-6-12 months  to 360 before releasing on ps3

M$ has been doing that this whole generation so if anything that is the "norm" for M$. That is what they are almost pretty much known for doing so it would actually be shocking if they didn't do it this upcoming gen.

Sony has been getting "bullied" by M$ this whole generation so its nothing surprising. Hopefully we will see Sony play THAT game just as agressively as M$ does this upcoming gen. I'm almost positive its going to happen

I'd take a wild guess at the original source being misunderstood and that EA are agreeing to provide timed exclusive on dlc content for EA games for the new console, and somewhere along the line that got misunderstood and assumed it was timed exclusive base titles, which doesn't sound plausible.

They backstabed Sega during the Dreamcast era anything is possible with EA.

Sony should do what sony is good at and make good games, not try to get in a money fight with someone with a far bigger bank account and in far better shape to take a battle like that.

We have to go with what we see and its obvious that Sony is going to get aggressive because they actually started getting aggressive with the exclusive DLC thing during the later half of the 7th gen. They are obviously going to continue that into this gen
