If it is Sony who does the used game locking it would be approved and praised as innovation.

"WHY CAN'T I HOLD ALL THIS INNOVATION?!!?"

A man buys new to support a developer. A man would be unaffected, but dislikes a policy none the less. A man does sell unfavorable games, however he does not believe these measures will come to pass...at least not on one system. Valar Morghulis.

i'm likely to go digital only (mostly) next gen, i only buy new as is, and i only rarely trade games with friends so in theory it wouldn't affect me.

....but, i just think this is bad business and borderline illegal. i would certainly be afraid of mass market rejection of consoles and as such i would, at minimum, defer my purchase by 4-6 months to see how the market is reacting. i won't be the investing into something that is going to die and this, imo, could kill them.

won't effect me, just give cheaper deals and a buddy system to allow my friends to borrow games. Oh and more in dept demo's. So people can try the games before they buy.

I will boycott any game that makes use of such a feature.

I would boycott any console that has such a feature. People have a right to buy used games if they want and I don't think the companies should lock consoles to stop the purchasing of used games.

I would boycott such a console, knowing very well I would be depriving myself of great games. But seriously, the industry has gotten worse and worse because fans are willing to go along with whatever BS the major companies tell us to do. Pre-order bonuses, season passes, micro-transactions, digital rights management, "persistent online authentication," etc. If only we would stop supporting such anti-consumer features, they would disappear. The same goes for anti-used game measures, which are by far the most egregious.
