Actual statistic is closer to about 99.5%

I think the follow up should be "Do you play video games?" I think the numbers would see a great deal of correlation.

Well it's not like gun violence polls actually bother to ask who owns a gun, or drug polls being concerned if one has used cocaine before being against it.

Just saying that while looking the subject from the inside, while it provides you with a great deal of empyrical data, also possibly skews your perception. Ever heard about a problem who needs an outside opinion?

I have no issue with who they poll.  I simply think data needs context to be understood.   I think on your two examples follow up questions would be interesting as well.  Then we can start to understand why groups of people see an issue differently and can start a productive dialog.

I'm surprised the number isn't higher. Why wouldn't you believe that there is some correlation between violent crime and videogames if you don't play videogames, and you watch the news, which regularly reports on "videogame related violence" as if it's more than just a myth.

Videogames like all mass media have an effect on people, to say it has no effect is just wrong.

mass media has a ton of effect on society. Even those who deny it. There's lot of interesting studies done on the influence of mass media.

That said, banning things to do with free speech is the wrong way to go about. Teaching about literacy with mass media is a solution. It also has benefits in many other areas.

I keep saying this but the dang ESRB needs to be changed. No one looks at an M and realizes what it means.

PEGI is better my far because it has actual numbers on it.

There's no mistaking that! Love the new PEGI logos.

Yeah but to be honest no one cares.
Even here you see the little tards buying CoD,Gears and other games they shouldn't play. The sellers don't care.
At least the sticker looks nice right?I could punch them always in the face cause they destroy MY gaming experience with giving those games out to those people.

They should control this somehow.
I always said > Enable complete data control and build it into the NextGen consoles and Gamepads. If someone wants to play those games he has to register and the data is compared to your socialcard or so aka no one can fake that shit.
If the gamepad is getting handed over to someone who isn't old enough it freezes so adults can't give the pad over to them.
They still can watch but they probably lose the complete interest for doing that. They rather want something they can play and then even the hardest 5 year old CoD hero will play uncool games like NiNoKuni. At least he plays something he will think.

@bolded

Yes.

I don't care if it works or not, I just think it looks damn sexy. Also, I completely disagree with you, that's a pretty ridiculous idea. Parents can ignore the PEGI rating if they want to, it's their children. I've been playing 15/18 games as far back as I remember, my childhood wouldn't be the same without them.
