Forums - Nintendo - Wii U Gamepad replacement cost

I just realized after reading this thread that a Vita with a 32GB Mem card is the same price as the Wii U Deluxe, WTF!

just saying.. relative cost is good

This doesn't even make any sense.

$140 plus tax. They should have created a bluetooth Wiimote + Nunchuck set and use those $140 to future proof the console.

..but people like myself would rather have the more unique game play experience that the Gamepad allows than slightly better graphics. If people don't like the Wii U, then they have a choice not to buy one. The ones of us that have and enjoy ours are tired of the other systems fanboys commenting on the Wii U when they really have no idea....

This is why Nintendo will have a hard time convincing me to get a second gamepad. Now I understand why they initially only supported 1.

haha the damage control in this thread is hilarious

But this is the fundamental controller for the console, not the handheld console.

It also costs less than a 3DS to make, is that relevant?

It cost more than a wiimote+ + nunchuck, xbox controller, DS3, Move....

It is probably what is making the Wii U more expensive than the Wii was at launch

still less than vita

Yes... it is still just a controller, why would it cost the same as a Vita?

its bigger, better graphics, and has greater software

not by itself...

And it doesn't have an OLED screen. The software claim is dubious too and has nothing to do with the price.

While I agree that it's a silly comparison, mentioning the OLED screen is a bit silly too. My Vita screen doesn't look any better than my Wii U Gamepad screen, so who cares?  I didn't buy COD for the Vita, but Blops 2 looks great on the Gamepad....and it's a great game too.

I have a 3 year old daughter, and she has had strict instructions from daddy not to go anywhere near the gamepad.

How much does it cost nintendo to repair a gamepad?

Well, that's pretty expensive (but not nothing more than we anticipated).

Sticking with the 1 I think.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.
