The head of PlayStation Uk isn't as informed as the boss of SCE Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida, he said they're not blocked, he's not gonna lie about it.

The thing is that we know a digital only future is coming. Whether it be Gen 9 or Gen 10 it will come and no one will be able to buy used games or sell their games back. I just hope they lower the cost on digital games.

Shuhei Yoshida is clearly dead set against it, which makes me feel that the senior management is as well.

Perhaps they haven't sent a memo around, or perhaps other executives disagree with the position, but I think the official position is clearly stated. If they go back on that, it will indeed be going back on a previous statement, not clearing up an area of ambiguity.

I have a strong feeling that this will blow up in the faces of whoever  goes through with this

I not embarrassed to say that I buy used games, and thanks to that stores like gamestop I would've never experienced some gaming franchises of this gen:
bought uncharted 1 used; bought uncharted 2&3 new(got the collectors edition for U3
bought ME1 used; bought ME 2&3 new(got the CE for ME3 as well)
bought CoD WaW used; bought MW3/Blops/Blops II new
would go on but you get the point
and on top of that bought a helluva alot of DLC

when devs see the sequels & profits to their games drop like rocks, they'll only have themselves to blame.

With all the persistent rumors about MS blocking used games and with doubt still in the air about Sony (after reading comments here: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=516144).. :/

If that happens, then this 7th gen is my last.

Ya, I wonder if the US is really the only main country that buys used games.  Other countries probably have people who buy used games, but the US is full of cheapskates and I can see the US being the center for used game sales.  Any time a someone can save 1 dollar or 5 they will.  Like $5 will make or break them.

They said they would leave it to the publisher. I don't care, I don't usually buy used. I imagine it would suck for some people, though.

No, I just don't buy them.  Every time I've bought a used it has never worked, so I don't even bother with them.  I just don't know if used games are prominent in other countries or if the US is the biggest source for used game sales.

Since all games will be availalble digitally day one, you will always be able to find any ps4 game you want, though the price might be ridiculously high if some ps3/psp games are anything to go by. I'm still against this, though it won't affect me at all.

My opposition to it is that I live with my boyfriend and we're both gamers in our own right, and I don't agree with needing to buy every game twice or else to play it on the same profile. That stinks and it's exactly what's going to happen with digital-only or a pre-owned block. Plus I never play co-op (ever) so the two copies for MP doesn't apply to me.

Not sure how it'll work on the ps4, but wouldn't game sharing fix that problem for you? Plus, I can still find new most games I want online no matter how old they are. 

I share games with my best friend and I can play them with my account.

I see. The reason I asked is because your post implied that you hold a bit of disdain for people who buy used games. I buy practically everything used, as long as the savings aren't insignificant.
