Forums - Nintendo - Ugly and probably rubbish 3rd party wiimote launched

Funny thing is, that they'll probably sell a good # of these, basically robbing Nintendo. Wouldn't be suprised to see it in stores next time I pick up a game.

Can anyone name any 3rd party controller for any system that has ever been any good?
I just don't touch anything that isn't made by the console company any more cuz they are never as good!

Well at least they're normally cheaper. But same price? wtf.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Hmm, I'm not sure why the link's going to a blank page, they appear to have deleted the article. Here's a cached version:

We've no idea whether or not Snakebyte's third-party Wii remote is a tribute to Nintendo's lunchbox, but we ask you: is there any other earthly reason to use that fruity shade? We'd also like to know the story behind that peculiar, rounded d-pad, or the tacky, clashing battery cover.

Most of all, however, we're keen to hear why Snakebyte has chosen to charge €39.99 for one of these, when the official model from Nintendo costs more or less the same? We're not going to criticize the ergonomic qualities of this Wiimote before we've held it in our own hands, but lower pricing is typically the greatest attraction of third-party peripherals. Perhaps Snakebyte is gambling on shortages of the official Wiimote

If your own Wiimote lacks sufficient amounts of purple, these will be appearing from February 8th.

The designers thumbs should be broken for bringing this abomination upon us!

nothing could ever make me touch that

I've Googled them and they appear to be a German company trying to rip off the look of Alienware. http://www.snakebyte-europe.com/

According to their website it also comes in black and costs 39.99 euros. (Why is there no euro key on my keyboard?!)

^let me help you with that
€39.99

Ah I didn't spot it hiding down by the 4 there. It's been relegated to Ctrl-Alt-4 while the £ and $ both get Shifts. The politics of keyboards...
