I want to ask you a serious question here. Do you really think Sony intentionally left off the higher profile developers so they could pad the list with mostly minor studios?  Does that make any sense at all?  If they were going to lie, wouldn't they have included the bigger names?  Unless you're telling me they thought the list was more impressive without Deep Silver, Ninja Theory, or Avalanche?  If there was ever an instance where someone could look rationally at a situation and say, OK, yeah, that was a mistake, this is it.

Second, and I'm certain you know this already, but registering patents does not mean intent to produce.  Thousands of patents are never used.  For instance, Microsoft patented a system where a camera (Kinect) actually counts the people in the room so that it can charge the account if that number exceeds the licensed amount.  In other words, if you have a bunch of people over to watch something streaming on the NextBox, it could charge you extra.  Now, do you think they're going to use that?  No, probably not.  Assuming something is going to be used just because it's been registered is folly.

You put big names and people will catch you lieing right away. Little game so maybe people didn't notice but where impressed by all the games.  The Illumi room was shown at CES, Of coarse they are going to use it. Why would they set up a both? Just for the hell of it??????? Why make a commercial advertising your product?????????why spend the money if you don't intend on using it??????????????????? Your not making a whole lot of sense or you don't have clue about business and what MS is positioning for. That showing was for hype.

Uh.  Except the big name studios that were left off ARE actually working on PS4 projects.  Did you not even read the article?  Or simply not understand what you were reading?

And what does Illumi Room have to do with the Sony anti-used game patents you mentioned?  What are you even talking about?  I never mentioned Illumi Room one way or another.

Stop feeding the troll.

Yeah this is a really interesting point. I'm glad that you brought up an old article but threw in illumiroom as a twist.

Off topic I really like your avatar. It reminded me of this picture.

You basically made the case that ms won't use the patent. This site is so one sided it's just straight Annoying.

I don't think you know what you are talking about. You ask a question I answered, sorry you didn't like the answer. Moving on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If those graphics are what we got to look forward to out the the 720 and Illumi room then Sony could ban used games and still dominate of course since they are not going to do that Microsoft had better do more.

Was Microsoft desperate when they released X360 an entire year before Sony and Nintendo released their consoles? nonsensical threads just keep coming.

I understand Sony is getting a lot of mistrust because of their arrogance and mistakes last generation. But why is everybody forgetting their huge success with PS1 and PS2. Their first 2 consoles and the highest selling of all time. They completely dominated nothing came close.

YES microsoft was desperate releasing a year early.

They lost all the money from PS2 from PS3 Kyuu. http://www.1up.com/news/sony-lost-ps3-ps2

Yea that's all their going to do is illumi room. They didn't show 720 graphics. They showed the tech, thats it. 720 will be on par with ps4, you better believe Sony upped it's ram and showing for some reason.

I genuinely don't know which thread is worse. This one which paints this revelation as a sinister conspiracy, or the one that is almost pure propaganda. Claiming that disappearing developers is a really good thing. It is neither by the way. Sony fucked up, and didn't fact check its disclosures. Yes it is amateurish, but hardly something malicious. On the whole Sony neither gains or loses anything.

Can we stop fighting for millimeters, and while we are at it can we please stop with the ridiculous leaps.

I DO think that Sony is desperate, but only because it's Do or Die for them. They're banking on the success of the PS4, which means they're going to War. They're taking MS head on and has gone out of their way to make sure PS4 will be successful; I'm sure PS4 will be the most powerful console this gen and will see MASSIVE 3rd party support. Sony has gone all in, and the question is if MS saw this coming and prepared accordingly.

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.
