"Where were the exclusive at launch? Last I can remember was N64 (Super Mario 64)."

Dismisses Wii Sports because it was bundled. Goes back to N64. Forgets about Smash Bros. Melee, Rogue Squadron 2, Luigi's Mansion, and Super Monkey Ball for the GameCube.

And Zelda TP on Wii ^^ but still, the main point he's making still stands

NintendoLand is decent launch title that shows what the gamepad is capable of.  ZombiU is a decent exclusive title also.  I agree with a little of what he is saying (perhaps they should have included at least 4 GB of ram).  They should of had a Wii Sports U and Wii Fit U at launch.  Mario Kart is dropping probably around holiday season this year so that should pick up sales around that time.  They dropped might have dropped the ball but they can still pick it up.  This guy really didn't really enlighten anything to me.  Sure Nintendo made some mistakes but they also have some time to fix their mistakes.  Frankly there are very few third party games that I give a shit about these days.  The GCN era was the last era that I really cared for 3rd party games.  Now, the only 3rd party games that interest me would probably be Monster Hunter and GTA (and my GTA interest is pretty much gone).  So I am not the typical video game consumer considering I have very little interest in almost any third party title.

Nope, Wii U just didn't sold very well and it's just 3 months on the market. 3DS didn't sold well in the begginning, and now is the best selling handheld in the market.

@DanneSandin: He bisacly said just about the same things I have on my mind about the industry as a whole, he actualy said upfront his thoughts would change due to how it's going... I may be a Nintendo fan, but atleast I'm open for other companies to succeed and I would stress out on the hogwash path that they would take, especially Nintendo...

I can put this Rich fellow with other level headed gamers out there that actually uses his brain instead bathmouthing outright, like ECCWii who now goes on by ActiveGamerLife, Shokio, Darkcloud1983, Tony Rende, DrTre and etc...

I watch his vids all the time but his opinion flip-flops recently a lot. I know that he mentioned that in this video but c'mon :

1. I just agree with him on the technical viewpoints because up until this point we don't know what the wii u is really capable of (X being the first one that really shows the power of the Wii U)

2. If Nintendo had released a major console launch line-up they won't compete with the nex gen consoles of Sony and Microsoft. I think that Nintendo is doing the right thing. And this is noticable:
Nintendo will do what they never did before: they will release major AAA first-party titles with only weeks inbetween them. Normally Nintendo releases one game of one franchise and you must wait several months until you get the next AAA game from another Nintendo franchise. They know that they NEED big games to compete with the releases of the ps4 and 720.

for me personally its important I get MHTU in march :p

Drop the ball at launch and launch window? Yes

Drop the ball the whole gen? Too early to say (but probably not). Worst case scenario: Gamecube level of success.

Edit: he talks about the launch games, but it would have been "impossible" for Nintendo to have their big guns ready for launch (aside of NSMBU). Keep in mind games take 2-3 years to develop, so unless Nintendo rushed the Zelda or 3D Mario games it would have been impossible to meet the launch (or launch window) deadline, specially without lowering the quality.

people sometimes dont get nintendo..they wait first to finish their games because it takes time simple as that and then they will advertise the Wii U properly and probably lower the price if ther expectations after that dont come true,,people are talking and talking from their heads but no one actually listens what Iwata is saying..

and for the future ..after the Wii U and 3DS they also have a plan that will make their consoles relevant also stated by Iwata a few days ago.

so there is a plan will it work ...wait and see

Can't watch the video right now, but I would say Nintendo fumbled the ball. The Wii U just wasn't ready to launch last Holiday. The launch line-up was decent but then there was nothing until March. TVii wasn't ready at launch, and even when it was released it was lacking features, the OS is slow, stuff just needs work.

This is kind of a Beta period for the Wii U. We'll see how the spring and summer updates and releases change the picture. Nintendo still has time before the PS4 and 720 launches to fix the Wii U's biggest problems.

He threw quite a lot of opinions in there but overall I agree with him.
Nintendo really rushed out the Wii U it seems. They didn't have the best First Party support for it's launch at all and marketing was not all that interesting or popular. (Even if the YT Views for the Wii U's Marketing Campaign were quite high.)
Still, this guy is acting like a Zelda game would make the Wii U have 10 Million by Holiday 2013, which is crazy. He had too high of expectations it seemed.

This is true. Nintendo has pulled back all software it can, and is going to line it up as domino's for the holidays. One by one they're going to push them over with a markting punch. Their hope will be that momentum will be regained. I think it will.

In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

I think Rich missed an uppertunity to have Sexy-Coco in this segment.

I would actually love to see Coco would bash the WiiU and Rich begruntly admits Coco words (as a first for him) and then totally do a 180 degree turn and say the Nintendo will make a comeback like they did before! I would look at vid repeatedly without end! ROFL LMAO
