Forums - Microsoft - Square's Ian Livingstone talks next-gen; hints at always-on, used game-blocking Xbox

if this is true. then the 720 will lose and MS would be dumb to do such a thing.
THIS WILL ALSO  STOP US BRING  A GAME TO A FRIENDS HOUSE AND HIS 720 WONT PLAY IT..

It's not about losing the benefit to buy used games; it's about losing the benefit of selling said games. For example, during BBY's 100% trade in promos, I have been able to get 40 bucks for a relatively new game.

I have over 500 dollars in GS store credit as a result of frequently trading games.

If true....I will sit back and watch this shit system flop...i bet MS sends out a patch that terminates this online constantly feature within the 1st 6months

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

Either of these would ensure I don't buy the next MS console.

Would you go PlayStation? That would be an interesting twist.

These two things also turn me off, but it is other things that keep me from MS, but I might get one for non XBL use if they bring the IPs.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

lol I own and use a PS3.

Ok, so what was the OP's point of making this thread? And if I wanted to tell people to shut up, I would but that's not I'm saying. Between me and the OP, you seem to be thinking for more than just yourself here.

The point of making this thread is because it is another mention from someone from the game industry about these rumors regarding always online and block used games. If you wanted to tell people to take it with a grain of salt or critic it for sounding like he was just quoting a rumor do so. Don't dance around it with statements like "So all you guys that are "worried", if MS confirms this to be untrue in say, a month, is it still a problem?"

Lol, dance around. There just seems to be so much energy put into these rumors, I guess I just look at these things differently and I don't get the being worried thing.

I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.

Calm down guys. I honestly don't think MS would do that.
I really wouldn't care and wouldn't change my mind to not buy xbox3. I would just like the price of entery for games to go down if this was the case.

Well it is worrying to everyone almost, if not for the used game purchasers but to those who see a big support crash if they go that route. Sorry though, I'm a little on edge today.

Yeah, but exclusively? Would those features taint any network advantages Xbox might have or do you expect them to be fully on par, well aside from varied features.

Let's hope this isn't true; it'd certainly put me off buying it if it is.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.
