I kind of wish I could go back in time to the year 2000 when I traded in most of my PS1 games towards a PS2 and a bunch of launch games and preorders in order to stop myself. If only I would have known that Sony would let every one of their new systems play PS1 while all of their future systems were abandoned in terms of backwards compatability (PS2 was, same with PSP, and now PS3 will be dropped right away with PS4 ... but the PS1 will live on forever I guess).

I think there were about 2000 or so PS1 games released. I could have had picked up a bunch of games when the PS1 was going out of style and just played through those inbetween big releases instead of buying new games all the time lol.

and how do you know that?

If you buy a PS4, you're a PS4 owner, with the intent to play PS4 games.

If I want older gen games, I'll just stream them or play them on my white PS3 slim.
