As a business model, it would make sense to release the product first where it is more popular. That way it appear to reward loyalty and possibly get a good return on your investment.

Yes, that's why it makes sense for Sony to always leave Europe out in the cold. Europe is Sony land! |
Indeed, we always get the consoles last... and Europe is indeed sony land, most of my friends got a ps3, almost none got a xbox360.
I wish they will reward us by releasing the ps4... atleast around the same date as the US.
North America is where they need to gain more ground. I agree later releases dates are stupid but it seems you all do get rewarded with Plus. You easily get the better deals.
Sony doesn't want my money... They just don't, ok? I was planning on buying Metal Gear Vita as well as Gravity Rush and Wipeout. But they just give them to me for free. They just do not like money. It's the only possible explanation.
On the other hand, I'm sure as hell getting a 32 GB Memory Card now. So they will be getting their money that way. Oh yeah, they are also bringing more friggin' PS3 Games than I can possibly ever play. PS+ in Europe really kicks some serious ass. I can live with a later PS4 Release if the service keeps being as awesome as it is right now.

Yea, but Sony knows you guys are loyal. Look what you did for the PS3, even though it came out at such a high price and 1 1/2 years after the 360. It's currently 5.6M ahead of the 360 and that gap will only grow. May end up being ~8M-10M when all is said and done. And it also has the potential to pass the Wii. So, they reward you with better Plus releases (not complaining about the NA releases like many do, though).
This also allows them to focus on the harder markets, like Japan and NA. For Japan, early release is not only because it is their home turf, but they also have to compete with handhelds, which have become the go to gaming devices there. In NA, they know it's important to make it on time for the spending frenzy that is the holiday season, and also have to compete against MS's NA centric 360.
EU PSN was getting neglected most of this gen, so it's about time SONY started showing love to their biggest market.

I wasn't going to renew because of the PS4 and needing to Save money for it but clearly that isn't happening! Haha
