Let's assume at least $500 for PS4 Premium + $250 for PSV = $750 for remote play on PS4 vs. $350 for WiiU Deluxe (Maybe $299 by PS4 launch) with off-tv play and asymetric multiplayer right out of the box. Very few people are going to pay an extra $250 just for that feature.

i absolutely agree.  nintendo's blantant copying of sony's idea is disgusting. 

I played God of War HD collection almost all through remote play. I also always just play Mario on the gamepad. This is a feature I'm really looking forward to.

Also Sony has stated it works with all PS4 games, except those requiring the eye/move.

It's a nice feature for those that own both systems but since Sony has done nothing to boost Vita's fortunes, this is meaningless to most people.

Not at all the same

To me this shows Sony has little cooking on the vita front. I am not going to get a vita if the only thing it can do in the future is play ps4 games. And will this feature even work on 3G? If not this really loses a lot of the remote play steam. Wii u is built around the second screen experience.

Game companies have been flirting with this type of gameplay for years now. Nintendo had Zelda four swords adventure and the GBA, and that was a distaster. Sony did it again, better this time, with PSP and PS3 remote play, it wasn't something that sold either console, but it was a nice bonus. It'll be the same with PS4 and Vita I believe, a nice bonus for people that own both consoles, but not something that will sell either the PS4 or the Vita, they'll sell, or not sell, based on their own merits and game libraries. Microsoft will more than likely do something similar in a "me too" fashion, but I doubt they'll ever enter the handheld race against Sony and Nintendo.
