Forums - Gaming - Burnout Paradise

I got the game yesterday, and its great: but..

No restarts - while I think this is a good idea, and helps with the flow of the game, it should be easier to get back to the start, maybe by asking you if you want a marker on your map(which leads me onto my next gripe).

The map - why can't you place a marker on the map to help you find a race/junkyard/whatever.

Events - You can't tell if you've done an event until the announcer says that you've already beaten it and that it's just for practice. It should say 'you've already beaten this race, do you want to race again for practice'. Or something like that

Takedown cam - That's just plain annoying. I want the option to turn it off.

Controls - I want to remap my boost/handbrake button.

Other than these few minor issues, the game is fantastic and I will play it to death over the next few weeks.

Most of these flaws seem forgivable, I'm probably going to get this next week

I don't own this game, but i played the demo and found one of the best thing this game has over any other is you can go straight into online play from in the game,

Don't get me wrong, these things don't detract from the game, but they would make it even better if they patched it.

I think there is a couple of much bigger problems with this game.

1.) No crash mode. That's a shame, but it is forgivable (Burnout 2 probably still has the best crash mode anyway - adding multipliers was a definite mistake.)

2.) NO SPLIT-SCREEN MULTIPLAYER!!!! That really sucks. Playing against people online is okay, but it can't compare to playing road rage against real-life friends that are actually within mocking distance. That really ruins the experience as far as I'm concerned. That said, Burnout Paradise is better than the last couple of entries to the franchise, and it's probably still the best arcade-racer series out there.

My main gripe would be lack of re-starts - although I doubt it would annoy me until late in the game if you're going for 100% completion (which I rarely do in racing games anyway). I imagine if you're sitting trying to win 1 last race then having to drive back to the beginning each time you lose will get old very quickly...

I do prefer openworld approach to set races though so I doubt a small number of niggles will put me off.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
