There is no chance the PS4 or any 8th gen console OR any PC in the next 10 years will achieve photorealism.

The Quantic Dreams demo is impressive, but it is so far from photorealism that I'm surpised you'd use it as an example.

Yeah, people underestimate what "photorealism" means. It means real life graphics, and there's no way PS4 can achieve that. That's 9th gen stuff, if even then.

I know. People seem to think that if the lighting and textures are really good that it's photorealism. Nope, it takes far more than that. Movies with multi-million dollar budgets, the most advanced tech and the most talented artist have yet to pull of photorealism on human faces and movements.

that quantic dream is certainly amazing, but no way will they pull that level of realism in game. still cant wait what they will pull off with the PS4, looking at how amazing beyond looks, there ps4 game will look outstanding

But look what they were capab le of doing other time wiht the PS3

The first games out always look the worst. At the end of the PS4 life shouldn't the QD model look pretty damn close to what they can do?

Did PS3 games ever reach this level?

EDIT: Damn it! Conegamer beat me to it!

The PS3 is not dead yet!

Well, guys, we did. We finally have realistic ear hairs on console games.

Yes, no longer will we have to suffer games where unrealistic ear hair ruined the gameplay experience! Finally!

Signature goes here!

That Killzone demo was beyond anything I had ever seen before. The first time my jaws dropped like that was when I saw the original Crysis maxed out on PC. I honestly don't think there are any games out right now that can achieve that level of fidelity. And this is jut the beginning. 5 years from now...

This may not be photorealism, but it is more than good enough for next gen.

Simply, no not photorealism at a decent framerate in-game. The GPU is comparable to my PC vid card, and while its quite good, its not photorealism for the games.

Let me remind you of Killzone 2 E3 2005

Personally I hope PS4 footage we seen is real but knowing Sony's bluffing history who knows.

* all this is just hurting the game industry but w.e

It won't do real time ray tracing at 4K or even 1080p, so no.
Unless you mean can make foto realistic screen shots.

Personally, I think Crysis 3 on PC maxed out looks more impressive than Killzone Shadowfall.

For me though, the graphics of Monolith's Soft's "X" are good enough for next gen, and well done Wii graphics were enough for me this gen.

Knack isn't really "photorealism" per say, but it looks really impressive. Like a Pixar movie!
