No, but PS4 is Sony's Gamecube.

You're not thinking straight. Gamecube was a console produced by Nintendo, the same goes for the Wii U.

Mhm.

You just posted an article that likens the Wii U to a Sega console.

Which i'm not the author of. You do realise that, right?

So why did you post it when you knew that the author wasn't thinking straight?

That's not for me to decide man. The posters will decide how right or wrong the author might be. Saank youu verey much

This entire idea that Nintendo is on the verge of collapse is painfully pointless and not even remotely possible at the moment.

Just paste this article.

"Nintendo has £6.7 ($10.5) billion in the bank" - their most recent losses

http://www.gamesradar.com/nintendo-doomed-not-likely-just-take-look-how-much-money-its-got-bank/

That article pre-dates the Nintendo financial statement where their cash deposits reduced from $10 billion (which you're correct about) to $6 billion in the space of one year.  You can find the figures here in section 1.B).

The thread I keep referring back to for this information is one from last year that Kowenicki made:

I've no idea the state of Nintendo's bank account more recently than that.  It certainly is a bit outdated at this point.  Perhaps Kowen can provide us with some more up to date information.

Not posting this because I'm trying to say Nintendo are in financial trouble.  Far from it, $6 billion is still an amount which they can ride out a poor performing console on.  It's just I see that $10 billion figure thrown around a lot - both here and on reddit - and it just isn't correct.

What did they even use 4billion for then? Restructuring?

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/profile/92109/nintendopie/ Nintendopie  Was obviously right and I was obviously wrong. I will forever be a lesser being than them. (6/16/13)

"The balance of cash and deposits was lowered primarily due to the facts that the payment for purchases of short-term and long term investment securities was made, that money provided mainly by collections of trade accounts receivable, which decreased due to the decline of net sales, fell short of the payments made for trade accounts payable, ordinary expenses, corporate income taxes and dividends, and that the yen was appreciated against the U.S. dollar and Euro."

Again, you're better off asking Kowen or someone else what that actually means.  Exchange rates & non-gaming investments is what I got from it, not sure if that's correct.

That's not how the nonsensical comparing game works.  Besides, the PS3 was clearly Sony's N64, so it only goes to reason.

...did I just read?

I hereby nominate this the worst article of 2013 thus far!

feels like the 3ds doom predictions all over again.

exactly. The Wii U will probably be a pretty big success at the end of the day.

Dreamcast was good though

Time for hype

No, the Dreamcast was actually good at launch. And I don't think the Wii U will be a failure in the long term. First party titles will save the Wii U as always.

Sony's butt is hurt. Do not feed!
