Pretty sad that even with the OMG 8 GIGS OF GDDR5 that it can't do 1080p x 60 fps.

What's even more annoying is every lemming hyping it, even though the only thing that matters in the end is not theoretical numbers, but FPS and image quality, which the PC has already beaten years ago.

Of course it can do it. Guerilla Games just chose 1080p @ 30FPS. This demo was only made with 4gigs BTW and started development on PCs.

Killzone was made with 4GB ram, the game is still 8 months from release. Who are you calling a lemming now?

I guarantee you that even using 8 gigs of ram it will not reach 1080px60.

This is alpha footage. It will get exponentially better once it goes Gold.

Also keep in mind that Sony only recently upgraded the PS4 to 8GB GDDR5 so this was running on only 4GB. Now that PS4 devkits are probably final, devs can get the most out of the PS4.

Agreed. But that screen was released anyway by Sony, so I was just saying that based on the screen released now, not on the release date of the Killzone game, that PC games/Crysis 3 look much better, at least technically. Which is a fact now, but may change in the future.

No, this wasn't released by Sony. This is just some person finding the worst possible spot to take a screepcap from some low-res Youtube video.

The trailer was released by Sony, so, even if indirectly, the image also was. And it looks pretty high quality to me: not the normal maps, the picture itself.

looks good but if they bothered to put frogs in the game they might as well add water splashes when they are jumping in the water

Same could be said about Crysis 2 showing turtles walking on 2 legs.  Apparently, nature is too difficult to replicate.

haha didn't know that

Actually, I suppose this is Crysis 1 but it might as well be 2...  Just look at the turtle at 30 secs in.  Just goes to show that even with the "best" graphics, games can still look stupid.

indeed they can

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

My goodness, people are comparing full games to a launch title several months from release. The stupidity is bewildering.

If you want to spend the kind of cash it takes to play today what will run easily on the Nextbox, be my guest.
High-End
OS Win 7 Win Vista, Win 7, Win 8
CPU Quadcore-CPU Neueste Quadcore-CPU
- Intel Core i7 (3 GHz) Core i7-2600k
- AMD Unbekannt Bulldozer FX-4150
Grafikkarte DX11 mit 1,8 GiB VRAM Neueste DX11-Karte
- Nvidia Geforce GTX 560 Ti Geforce GTX 680
- AMD Radeon HD 4870 X2 Radeon HD7970
RAM 4 GiB 8 GiB

This PC would cost around 600-650€ for max. settings. Take into account the loss the Nextbox will be sold at and you'll actually end up with comparable prices^^

What are you talking about? A HD7970, Core i7-2600k mainboard and memory already cost $700. Than you have to add a pc case and power-supply, Blu-Ray player, controller/mouse and keyboard etc. and you're at $900. And then you should probably also add a legal version of WIndows 7/8 to keep it fair so that's another $100.

All in all $900-$1000 and then you still have to build it yourself, and it will no way look as good as a console. And it doesn't matter if the Nextbox is sold at a loss, you as a customer will only pay $400 for it tops.

Are you kidding? If you don't type this from a console chances are pretty good that you already have a PC -> No need to buy a new tower, mouse, keyboard, blu-ray player (hint: DVD is still the standard) or OS (you can still use your license if you reinstall Windows). I'll give you the power supply though, this probably has to be rebought. Adds around 40€. 650-700€ total.

Well you still bought those parts sometime right? So you still spend money on it, even if it is 5 years ago. You don't have to have parts of an Xbox 360 to use the next Xbox. And that definitely counts for the Blu-ray player, since you probably didn't have one in your pc 5 years ago, or it would have been even more expensive. Sure you can say i don't need Blu-Ray, but the fact is that with the console you do get one so you have to count that in the pc build aswell(it at the very least adds Blu-Ray disc movie playback). And why i mentioned a case is was because of design. If you want something a little more compact and stylish you will have to buy something else than a tower.(and please don't say that design doesn't count, there are people that buy iMacs just for the design and only us eWindows on them).

Also i completely forgot that the next xbox is probably being shipped with a new Kinect, wich i didn't included in the price aswell.

But even if i only count the parts you mentioned i get to $750-$800, not $650-$700. Like i said, a HD7970+core i7-2600k+maindboard+8gb ram already adds up to $700. Let's say the next xbox launches at $350-$400, that's half the price of that pc even if i only count the parts you mentioned.

Amount of RAM does not influence fps... 60fps cuts polygons/sec displayed in half...

i'll get it free on psn+ ps4..(they gave crysis 2 free on ps3)

I never said it did. But Guerilla Games CHOSE 30FPS based on when they started this projuect which was 2 years ago. That was back when PS4 had only 2GB of GDDR5. If GG wanted to, they could make Killzone 4 60FPS, 1080p. But they're not because of the reasons I just gave. PS4 is able to do 1080p 60FPS...it just depends on what developers vision is for their games. Are they pushing the graphics? Are they aiming for that Call of Duty 60FPS smoothness?
