I stole that from someones signature here. Sony is taking a jab at Xbox here. 

They laughed off Microsoft and Nintendo last gen, but they're really coming out swinging now. They've also made fun of Ninty and MS in their AdSense ads. I like this new direction. 

I really hope they are successful right out of the box (see what I did there :P) - if not they'll get torn apart mid-gen for their cockyness.

I didnt take it like that. It sounded like he was saying they created PS4 to be as open as possible. The box is not a reference to XBOX

We know they didn't make a box, that's why they didn't show it at the announcement of the of it.

Take all the jabs they want. I don't like the direction the other companies have been taking. It is too bad the PS3 had so many mistakes and let the others run rampant. PS4 looks excellent and I hope things change for the better.

People say its cocky, but last gen they said outrageous stuff and couldn't back it up. Now they are just stating things and delivering. I hope things all pan out how it looks, because it looks really awesome.

Stuff like this is kinda juvenile. The industry should grow up a bit.
