Forums - Gaming - Ruh-Roh ... Valve Not Developing For PS4?

Money hats? It makes more sense that they're gonna focus on their own console instead of dosing out games to other consoles which never move large amounts of their games anyway. Besides, Valve were never big fans of Sony and the PS3. If they choose to support MS, its because it makes sense to do so, Left 4 Dead games have sold near 7 million on the 360

Simple fact is; Valve don't need the PS4, or the next xbox.

Valve is developing the Steambox and their games will be excluvies.

I dunno about "Steam Box". If the Wii U doesn't do so great, and Valve could persuade Nintendo to integrate the Wii U into the Steam Box for an all-in-one PC games + Nintendo games machine ... then they'd be cooking though.

Does the Wii U run Linux? NO, so this ^ will never happen.

There is a legion of Valve supporters who would take a bullet for Gabe. The Steambox is coming, and it'll most certainly be my living room hub of choice since I can Linux the shit out of everything then.

Nintendo is by far the one with the most backwards philosophy, userbase and hardware outlook for Valve's intention and interest and why would Valve want to team up with someone on the grounds that they "aren't doing so great"? Sounds like an incredibly poor idea.

Its not like Valve are Lewis Hamilton.

lol what happened to Valve and PS3 with Portal 2?

oops :P

Told you guys before, MS tried cross platform with 360 and PC in 2007......it didnt work out. And now it didnt work out with PS3.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Didn't Valve fall out with Microsoft over Left 4 Dead 2 DLC?

I call bullshit. The DLC came to Xbox and Valve is making money off it.

Is Valve really torn up about it? I doubt it.

Probably not, but they are torn up about MS

OT: Probably because of Steam Box. But there's always room at E3 for more announcements!

Oh yeah, very torn up. Which is why they brought more games to the 360.

I don't think Valve likes bringing games to consoles period. They do it for the money and auidence they can't reach just on the PC.

Yep, in the past Gabe hated Sony for PS3 and loved MS. Now it's the over way around, as seen if you read Gabe's comments

It probably had more to do with Valve bringing Steam to PS3. Sony is supporting us, so now we like them. I don't really pay attention to bullshit Gabe says.

I expect Valve to support PS4 and 720 in the future. They want to bring their IPs to people who don't play games on the PC.
