Forums - Gaming - One of my friends knows about the PS4 reveal but doesn't know Nintendo has a new console

The people I work with didn't know about either console...but all own iPads

Everyone thinks the Wii U is just a new controller. It's all Nintendo's stupid fault, Wtf do they think?

Leaving work today, my coworker says, "So the PlayStation 4 just came out huh?" I corrected him by saying that it's being announced in about 30 minutes. What's sad is that he's a Wii owner that at least knew about the PS4, but I had to tell him about the Wii U when it came out.

I am the Playstation Avenger.

My friend knew about the ps4 announcement but he never knew the ps3 existed...he phoned me up to ask if I knew why Sony were jumping straight from ps2 to ps4. I told him I didn't know the answer.

It's she not he and she does watch tv. Nintendo just doesn't fucking advertise. I texted her asking if she plays games and she said yeah so I said well the PS4 is being announced and she said I know I'm watching. She is a complete casual and she knows about the PS4 right at the launch. She had no idea Nintendo has a new console.

Pretty sad. Nintendo needs to advertise. Not a shot at Nintendo or anything. Just an example of how the casual knows about games and the new consoles.

Your market research is impressive.

i actually overheard 2 times at christmas while being il line people buying WiiU games and both asked do they play on Wii? both times the obviously where told no and didn't buy the game.

..Euphemism? Your Wii needs airtime, but by what your username suggest then it best hid still in them trousers. Porn is cheaper anyhow.

Most of the people I know don't even know there will be a PS4 this year or a PS4 show yesterday, a few know about the Wii U but that's about it, not sure what the point of this thread is.

That is how people will learn.  The perception will fix itself eventualy and those customers probably wouldn't have bought the new console immeidiatly either way.  It really isn't as mucha  aproblem as people make it out to be.
