If a paid online subscripton would mean the end of the online boom and annoying online trophies I will gladly welcome this new service... as I would simply not need it. I am already waiting for the offline splitscreen renaissance as I found it always much better playing with someone in the same room.

I hope they are just expanding PS+ with new features. I think PS+ is the best online service out there and I will be joining when I buy my Vita this year.

As long as online gaming is free this shouldn't bother sales too much in Europe. People paying for other services will be the cream.

My speculative outlook next gen is that mandatory online fees is going to be a deal breaker for many Europeans.
Times are changing. What work before doesn't automatically mean it will work a second time.
