Forums - Gaming - Have you ever seen another console get as much media attention as the PS4 is getting before its annoucement?

Somehow ppl seem to recognize the trillons of Kaz-gifs and forum-comments and forum-fanboyism as media-attention... I never thought Ni no kuni would be a system seller. Its a Japanese RPG without Square Enix as the publisher and it came out in the first month of the year.

The forum seems quiet today. The PS fans are being careful, waiting eagerly and trying not to raise their expectations too high.

Its also the combination of PS4 being announced before Xbox, which we all though was impossible, coupled with the PS3 resurgence in recent years promising long time PS fans a return to the PS2 glory days of actual market dominance.

We are in the calm before the storm people. I think im just gonna do 100% office work tomorrow lol.



Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

The OP isn't worthless it makes a lot of sense. How many consoles can you recollect that had this much press before the announcement?  Microsoft is going to have some huge buzz with the illumiroom with the casual media.

Gaming internet press? Ok, but there has been no mass media ads as far as I have seen....most of this is just forum hype.

I don't see this hype lol. Only gaming sites have mentioned it lol. Like every gaming site should do.

Before its launch? Yes the ps2 and wii. Before its official announcement? No never actually.

Seems pretty standard. Sony fans are hyped, as you would expect. You can't really measure "hype". The coverage seems about what you would expect... it's a big deal. I wouldn't say it's more or less than PS3, PS2, XBox360 or WiiU. Wii got an exceptional amount of media coverage but it was unusual, more like i-thing coverage. Things like the Youtube vid or whatever isn't coverage or hype, it's advertising.

Okay, you really didn't read my post. Your OP is not worthless, it does make a lot of sense. But the way the goalposts were set as suggested by conegamer made OP worthless. That's all I was saying. (I quoted Cone's suggestion fyi)
