Forums - Nintendo - 2013 - The Year of Nintendo RPGs

Pokemon X/Y, Project X Zone, Fire Emblem Awakening, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, Rune Factory 4 and Etrian Odyssey 4.

I think my 3DS will make me a beggar by the end of this year.

Imagine if we get monoliths 3ds game AND x this year!

Don't imagine that, we will likely get neither this year.

Although PXZ was made by them, so that could count as their 3DS game.

Yeah, the only thing we have seen from the 3ds game is my profile prcture, so I'm 99,74% sure that we won't get it this year. But the console team have been working on X since june 2010, and xenoblade took them 2 years to make, so we might get to see the game later this year. I doubt it though.

Also Bravely Default. Just needs to be announced for localization, along with DQ VII, DQ X, and SMT4 (this one's obviously coming though).

Hopefully when it does come it will get a name change. I have no idea if the Japanese title sounds good or not, but for the English title it's like they used Google Translate without consulting a native English speaker.

I'm still hopeful for X in 2013. I'm confident we will get either X or the Retro game before the end of the year.

@OP: This is a remarkable year for RPGs on Nintendo platforms. Has Nintendo ever had such a line-up in a previous year?

It meens Lee Brave default according to translate.

Project X Zone is an rpg? It seemed like some kind of 2-D fighter to me.

Naa it's just that Bravely and Bravery are homophones in Japanese pronounciation. These kinds of English butcherings happen all the time but nobody in Japan really notices or cares. The English taught in the public school system is totally useless.

Now you should see the PC version they are making: it is named Bravely Default Praying Brage. WTF.

That doesn't explain it all because even if it was supposed to be "Bravery Default: Flying Fairy" it would still be nonsense.

I can come up with 5 better names for the game. They might not be good, but they'll be better than Bravely Default: Flying Fairy. Watch.

1. Daring Fairy

2. Valiant Flight

3. Defiant Wings

4. Brave Spirit

5. Fearless Fairy

I'm not saying any of these should be the name of the game, but any of them would be a step up from Bravely Default: Flying Fairy. If they don't change the name it's going to be a hard sell at retail for all but the most hardcore RPG fans. It's hard to take anything seriously with a name like that.
