Forums - Gaming - Is Sony back on the right track?

Depends on the 20th. If they launch in September globally with a price point not over £299 + show some huge software mixed with a huge and I mean HuGe market campaign then yes.

The price cut for the Vita in Japan was a start, They are still a while away from getting back to where they once where though. The Playstation conference on the 20th will be awesome

It sounds more like they are in panic mode because they need to do something for the Vita. The latest sales in Japan/NPD showed that consumers don't want it.

I thought a survey showed it was the most desired handheld in Japan or am I wrong?

it was, but proves it means shit when you see sales

Yes for a million readers it was the most desired handheld in Japan...For 120 million other inhabitants it is an unwanted thing.

With my awesome powers of accurately predicting the past, i will answer this question in 2-3 years!

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

- George Orwell, ‘1984’

not to sound like a hater, but they should of been pro active and trying to save the vita a while ago. The new software for it will help sales sure, but all the developers will be more keen on bringing their games to the 3ds for the bigger install base. Nintendo pushed the 3ds when it was in trouble, sony never really did the same. I am sure there is deeper reasons.

but if they can keep up with alot of positive insight for the playstation brand as far as marketing goes (which the vita lacked big time), it will be back on track no problem.

WII U // PC // 3ds XL // VITA

At first, i really did not expect much. They barely managed to salvage the disaster they made for themselves with the launch of the ps3 and while its my favorite console Sony has just committed mistake after mistake and anything retarded they would do at this point would not surprise me.

Based on rumors and the way they are creating hype for ps4 i would say they are on the right track and i am excited. So far so good. But thats just it though, its mainly rumors and announcement of an announcement at this point. time will tell

I hope we will *never* see a market-domination again and I can't see why ppl would want it.

They won't be living in a van down by the river imo
