It's a pity they prefer to keep Digimon on 3DS and keep it as a small, marginal brand instead of trying to establish it as the Vita Pokemon.

Uhhhh... that didn't really make much sense?  It seems to be that you're implying that releasing it on the Vita would make its sales better than if it were on the 3DS, which I highly doubt.

Maybe not at first, but in the long run - without a doubt. This is a 200k franchise now, which doesn't stand a chance at competing with Pokemon on any Nintendo platform. Why would a 3DS gamer buy a Digimon game, when he can buy a Pokemon game instead? If they decided to go for Vita, made this a good game and released it world wide, they would surely get better sales and could possibly compete with Pokemon becoming the "Sony Pokemon". With such low sales of the series they wouldn't be really risking much anyway...

If you want that as your argument, it seems like we should be saying "why should any non-Nintendo developer make a game for the 3DS?  It will just be competing with Nintendo games so it's better if EVERYONE moved to the Vita where there's no 'competing' with NIntendo IP's.  Not like they're risking anything anyway."

What makes you think that Digimon and Pokemon games are actually competing with each other?

PSP port? Meh.
If it makes it to the west THEN we have something to celebrate!

I love digimon seasons 1-3, I think pretty much all the games since digimon world 1 were rubbish though.

Was kinda hoping this franchise would find itself on the Vita with a visual style similar to Gravity rush... Oh well, this probbably won't come to the west anyway. Would love to see a good developer like tri ace tackle the franchise.

It kind of was. The Digimon World games (1-3) were exclusive to the PS1. It had the chance but it didn't happen, and this was back at the height of the series.

PS: I'm a  3DS owner + Pokemon fan and I would totally buy this.

I'm locking this thread because it is a duplicate as Rhonin already pointed out.

There is a reason why Nintendo isn't the favourite choice for 3rd parties, right? Cause Nintendo gamers rarely buy 3rd party games. Let's face it, 4 million Vita gamers buy comparable numbers of 3rd party games as nearly 30 million 3DS gamers. DS had good 3rd party support due to extremely small dev costs and a huge install base, so far 3DS is capable of repeating it, but when I look at the sales of 3rd party titles on Vita and 3DS, I can't help but wonder why don't the big publishers understand, that the success of Vita will be beneficial for them in the long run. They would be able to sell more games on this platform, even if the number of Vitas sold never reaches the level of 3DS.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.
