Oh yeah, in the case, yes, it will pick up pretty soon, not only with casual, but also retro and Nintendo fans.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

Around the Network

No chance of it passing the PS2.

*Thought.

And no, PS4 can not become a better seller than the PS2. That's not going to happen. Plus, the Wii U will be picking up sales around the upcoming Holiday's this year. The market will be very competitive.

Don´t know man, it will take a lot of change to make me want a WiiU. Anything can happen, of course, but I don´t know...

hi Mr. pie. the casuals won't be back this gen. casuals don't by into gaming like core/hardcore gamers do, so it's not realistic to think that the majority of the casual gamer will buy any 8th gen. console. the Wii was a novelty, while the WiiU is more of a core gamers console. even if casuals comeback, they won't have a noticeable impact on sales.

casuals are not dedicated gamers, so don't expect them to drop their Wii's and pick up more advanced consoles. casuals don't think about advancements in technology so they won't see the point in purchasing a new console with the same name and 1 added letter.

OT: PS4 has a chance of doing what PS2 did, but it' doubtful.

I don't expect near as many casuals to buy the Wii U like the Wii had, but some will be back for more. With Nintendo learning how to capture that market it should be an absolute fact that Nintendo will keep on catering to them. (In that case, they'll keep on buying.)

i'll give you that notion my little water bird buddy, but there's no much Nintendo can do to even get half of the minority of casuals back. maybe 1 for every 5 hardcore.

No, the PS2 will never be beaten by a traditional home console, the market is moving too quickly and has changed way too much for that to happen.
And even if it were possible (which, to my mind, it isn't), the PS4 and nextbox seem unlikely candidates for the task.

We won't know. PS4 might flop massively. It might be a success. Anything can happen, especially things people don't count on.

Look at how Sony went from PS2 to PS3. GameCube to Wii. Pre-launch, PSP was widely expected to annihilate DS, and how did that work out? We'll have to wait and see.

I think something like this is very possible;

PS4 > 120 million
Nextbox > 80 million
Wii U > 45 million

I'd like that. Although I would prefer wiiu being switched with nextbox its not looking good for it

Agree with your casual view and I see ps4 doing what ps1 did maybe a little better (110 million if launched at 400)
