Nintendo has always been my second choice of console for gaming, But realisticly I've only ever bought one brand of games from them...Resident evil REmake, zero and chronicals....Other than that that aimed at audience isnt really for me so "I personally" wouldn't miss them but I know a lot would

It would be sad, sure, but it probably wouldn't impact the bigger picture all that much if one player dropped out of the industry. It's happened many times before.

Personally, I would miss Zelda, but I've already played enough platformers to last me a lifetime. Mario being gone would make zero difference to me.

One thing that I think would happen is that one or more publisher would try to plug the hole with more Nintendo-like software on the remaining consoles and especially tablets. It's possible that a good amount of Nintendo customers would become iOS/Android gamers.

The big question would be, what happens to Pokemon? If it disappears, that would probably be the biggest blow to gaming. If Pokemon survived post-Nintendo on tablets then I think people would transition much easier.

I would be very sad. I wouldn't quit gaming entirely, but I'd definitely be gaming less in the long run if Nintendo were to drop out of the picture. To this day, their software tends to be the first among my must-haves in a generation.

Hmm

It would be as if the industry lost its heart

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

I would be pretty upset. I love Nintendo for being so different compared to the other two and doing things their way. A Nintendo system compliments any other system so well and it would be a travesty to see that uniqueness go away :/

I don't wish no death on nobody, but little would change on the console market, neither the Wii nor WiiU are relevant today. I reckon another player would enter the market with Nintendo gone.

For handhelds it is a different story, Nintendo leaving that market would be very bad, but it just won't happen. Even if things went so wrong they could always retreat to the Japanese market, its big enough for Nintendo.

Console gaming would die or be in a permanent dark age.

I would do all my gaming on PC if at all.

I LOVE ICELAND!

If it were to ever happen, then console gaming would die along with it. Mario has always been the figurehead of the gaming world; and likely always will be. Without him, then most consumers probably wouldn't care. I know I wouldn't.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

I think much would've changed as no one would have pursued the casual market. Console gaming would then be just for hardcore gamers, and I assume in the long run that wouldn't be good for the industry, as it would alienate would-be gamers and thus there would be no expansion of the market.

As for handhelds, I was proposing that this was gone as well. Possibly then gaming on phones and such devices would have been even more prevalent.
