So far I've only played the Wii Paper Mario game. 

I have never played the original or TTYD.

I've watched someone else play the original when I was little and I remember wanting to play it, but I never got around to it.

My god, the dialogue and the humor is simply amazing. I'm really digging how well it aged even as an N64 game, the 2D artstyle is just perfect.

Koopa Bros=TMNT. That was awesome. I'm only at Chapter 1, but I can tell I'll enjoy the rest of this game. 

Now they just need to release TTYD on VC.

If you like that game u will like Super Mario RPG: Legend of the 7 Stars (SNES). Its sorta the inspiration/prequel to the Paper Mario series.

The problem is that I don't really want to buy it on Amazon, I've had a bad experience once.

I buy from Amazon (and Ebay) all the time. I don't think one bad experience should detract you. If you buy from someone or a store with a good rating, you have a very low chance of running into an issue.

I'm not sure about Amazon, but on Ebay, they ALWAYS side with the buyer...

Paper Mario games are the best, but Super Mario RPG is god!

I'm glad you have seen the light. The first 3 Paper Mario's were excellent. Paper Mario had the charm. The Thousand Year Door had a great story with great gameplay. Super Paper Mario had an amzing storyline. Sticker Star is good as ling as you don't think of it as a Paper Mario.

Also, The Thousand Year Door is my favorite game of all time. You won't be dissatisfied.
