WiiU is saved!

According to CNET it sold 57k, NOT 55k!

http://news.cnet.com/8301-10797_3-57569583-235/uh-oh-nintendo-sold-57000-wii-u-units-in-the-u.s-in-january/

Good news everyone! Seriously though, every unit counts now.

We can round up to 60k

60k? SAVED!!!

Ah, still tragic though, but every k makes a big difference.

Might be tragic, but at least it's almost 2x Vita.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

I guess so, but...

Actually I won't finish that sentence. Nothing good could come out of it.

lol it sure is :)

Still the Vita wasn't released 3 months ago, so if you put things in perspective, the Wii U is doing worse actually.

I say drop the price of both those devices and save the industry; Sony and Nintendo.

I never understood this. Consoles never sell their best in their first year on the market, or their second. It's normally the third and fourth, when the consoles are at their peak, there's a steady flow of game releases, the general public know about the system and devs have had time to get used to the console where it sells the most. So the Vita should be selling above the Wii U (not to include the fact that it's a handheld which always sell more as a general rule) because of all the mentioned reasons, yet it's just above 60% of the "new" console.

The Vita is in a far worse position; at least Nintendo have some massive games on the way and have the money in the bank to cut the price if they want to.

You're right about that, but this isn't a year after the release of the Wii U. There should be some demand for a console that has JUST launched. The Vita is in it's second year and many people are waiting for that pricecut that's due right about now. Personally i'm waiting for a slim version of the Vita as i always wait for X device 2.0 :D

It's still Vita's first year

That is easy to forget. It seems to have been around forever, like the 3DS, which hasn't even had it's 2nd anniversary yet! Crazy!

It's actually the other way round. Vita has awesome games to be released pretty much every month now, while Wii U has nothing coming this year. You should get ready to seeing Vita get ahead of Wii U quite often this year. In fact I can easily see Vita outselling Wii U in the period January-September, especially if Sony cuts the price of hardware. I'm finishing the period on September, because we have no announcements about the the last 3 months thus far.

The thing about Wii U doing so bad right now is because it's still in the launch window. Console should be doing well in the launch window, the slump usually comes after it. Unfortunately Wii U started slumping pretty much two weeks after the release, when hype and excitement about a new product should still be selling hardware.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

Did source just say 160k Wii? No wonder he doesnt write for this site anymore.
