Uh, since when? I don't even remember a time where they DID dominate. In recent years they've been very crappy.

yeah since when have they done anything special at E3?  I think 3DS' debut generated some good buzz but that wasn't E3 was it?  Both the WiiU ones they were criticized for.

I am a Nintendo fan too but I think they made some wrong decisions.

I admit any fool can say that in hindsight and my thinking is indeed based on hindsight.

I honestly wanted the console to be more powerful and thought it would be. The wii did well because of the innovative control which outweighed it's weak processing capabilities.
I don't think wii u going to do that this time around.

I understand (or think I do) that Nintendo want to concentrate on the fun aspects of gaming. You can have fun games without a powerful console and this is true.

MS and Sony seem to aim for more realism in games. Meaning they want their games to look, feel and act as real as possible (within the confines of cost and technology). This equates to the need for more processing power. Developers it seems too want to develop games that look and feel more real. Nintendo seem unable to grasp this concept these days.

It simply comes down to what the consumers ( and to a larger degree the gamers within those consumers ) want.
I have no evidence to support my theory but I am beginning to suspect that right now most of those consumers want raw power and more beautiful and realistic games. In other words a true generation gap that the wii u has so far fail to produce.

By releasing the console early Nintendo has also given MS and Sony a chance to see and gather info on the public's reaction to the wii u. It may be not a lot of time but enough for them to react in a small way should they need to.

I hope the wii u sells well and there is a big enough niche market for it, based on Nintendo games. As for third party support it is looking it might be heading the same way as the wii, plenty of promises to support but little action.

*Yawn* is this going to be the continuing theme for the Wii U going forward, hopes and dreams?

no.. maybe you are talking about  [ SONY make.believe ]

Think you're bummed now? Wait for the new consoles to launch with all the third parties.

Did you watch E3 last year?

I watched, and  it was a big failure for nintendo. Did you forget NINTENDOLAND! Puny fireworks and people in audience, still sitting, waiting for something to happen. But nope, that is all folks.

Failed as always Big N.

Also, last E3 win Ubisoft, without even one question.

Discounting Ubisoft, then last year. But that's only because the other presentations were terribly terrible (I can't even remember the MS one and the Sony one was all Wonderbook). Sure Nintendo spent too long on NintendoLand and Batman, but they got the message across with everything else. Mostly.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Im sure if this was 2007 maybe, but Sony was able to reverse coure by strengthing their first party lineup, brought down their console price and grabbed a majority of 3rd party support.  One of those actions is a guaranteed event not to happen with the Wii U.

Wii U was outsold by the Xbox 360, PS3, and 3DS in January. Us N fans are STRUGGLING... But I do BELIEVE Nintendo has been making all the RIGHT DECISIONS despite what anyone says. Wii U console itself is no doubt a 10/10. We just haven't got are games yet. In fact are last big game was Skyward Sword so it has been truly a long long long wait for us N fans. I can assure you Wii U is next gen, they just have not shown the next gen games yet. Saving for E3 which is very smart for Nintendo not to reveal how POWERFUL they can get till we see New Sony / Microsoft systems. So it really sucks there making us wait June E3 2013 till we see Wii U TRUE POWER. But also again it is UNDERSTANDABLE AND THE RIGHT DECISION. Quite honestly I don't ever remember an E3 where Nintendo didn't DOMINATE IT. So whatever super massive games they have been working on for over 3 years or so now. Is gonna BLOW everything away. I predict Mario Galaxy 3, Metroid, Mario Kart, Smash Brothers, And there just gotta be that surprise ? mark. StarFox? F Zero? Donkey Kong? or something brand new? NINTENDO HAS TO DO SOMETHING MASSIVE AT THIS YEARS JUNE E3 2013. And I believe they can. So hang in there. Gonna be a long long wait. But you damn well know its gonna be worth it. And just like I keep saying over and over again. RETRO that is who is working on the game right now that is GOING TO DOMINATE EVERYTHING. As always..... PROVE ME FUCKING WRONG!!!!!!

Quite frankly I don't ever remember Nintendo being present at E3 this gen other than WiiU and 3DS announcements
