Wow @ 3DS & DQVII!

And just like that, another million seller on the 3DS.

I want the Vita to jolt a bit though. Theres no chance of it ever competing with the 3DS, but games do look great in it and i would like to see more of them.

DQ VII did all that in just 3 days! week ending feb 17 should be huge! 3DS sold well! Wii U sinks (no games, but still) and Vita sucks (sales wise only).

Hey wat happen to all that wanting Vita poll? The one where Vita is the by far the most demand in Japan?

Dragon Quest above estimates based on pre-orders, but after seeing the COMG weekly and that Squeenix had shipped 1 million, I'm not too surprised. It's still a fantastic number though, so kudos to it. Maybe it'll be what Square-Enix need to convince them to keep working on consoles.

At the other end of the scale, Vita hardware is just utterly appalling. February 28th can't come soon enough, although I'm not sure it's going to boost it anywhere near the levels I'm hoping. Wii-U isn't dropping quite as quickly as I expected, actually, which in relative terms is a positive. It's still absolutely shocking though and needs to pick up soon.

To end with a positive though... Demon Gaze. Even in my most positive aspirations, I didn't see this staying in the top 10 for 3 weeks. Although I realise this is just due to a general lack of software at the moment, it's still nice. Looks like it's going to pass 50k physical, and we know it's sold at least 15k digital as well. Hopefully this will convince more niche games to come to the system. Better than nothing!

Wow. Serious ass kicking by DQ and the 3DS this week. You have to be fairly impressed when the total numbers for the 3DS are multiple times greater than every other piece of hardware on the chart combined.

800k sales of course is good but a bit disappointing for a DQ game... the first time I see a DQ games (no MMO) selling less than 1.5 million in first week.

So we were pretty close with the HW, but somewhat under for the SW. So yeah, it's damn good when you look at the expectations; only one predictions was even close!

lol these predtictions are too low for a DQ game... the franchise is more popular than FF in Japan...

DQX is a MMO... no fast seller.

DQIX for DS sold 2,338,221 units in the first week.
