Faster than 77% of internet connections in Canada. It's seriously been about an hour now and still downloading...

 

and if the game was so bad that it needed a patch this big, I'm never buying another Battlefield game ever again... because they obviously screwed up and didn't do it right the first time around. 

Patches should never take this long to download. 

It took me 15 minutes to dl the Crysis 3 beta (1500mb) and this is what I get. Dafuq is wrong with your net bro? Also, you should expect a large dl file since you haven't played the game in over a year and there has been multiple expansion packs as well as bug/glitch fixes.

 

Maybe it's the servers and not the downloader.

Be warned. The patch made the game worse.

Luckily for me, it can be avoided on the 360 version if you delete it.

It's a matter of keeping the client data uniform. A lot of games do DLC this way. Buying the extra contents just unlocks it account side.

It's not my internet you rude little troll. I downloaded the DUST 514 Beta which was over 2GB the other night and it was faster than this.

 

I expected a small patch file that would take 10 minutes at most.... Not this. 

 

1. If a game ever needs to be patched THAT much, what does that say about the product they sold to you? 

2. I didnt buy any expansion packs, so why am I forced to download them? Most other games do not force you to D/L new expansions BEFORE you have bought them!

 

Bottom Line: this is bullshit. 

 

 

 

oh yeah.... funny how you tried saying I have a cheap wal-mart connection but my internet is twice as fast as yours. Upgrade your Rogers plan, bro!

Seriously??? WTF! I was bored of COD and wanted to quickly throw in BF3 and play for a few minutes but I'm stuck downloading this crap. 

 

1. It's taking almost an hour.

2. It's using up limited data for the month. 

3. Not convinient at all for someone who just wanted to go back and play a couple quick games. 

4. I've downloaded full games on PSN that have been quicker than this. 

 

what could possibly be 1942mb that theyre forcing me to download in order to play this game again? 


havent played bf3 but for bad company 2 you had to always download patches that included the dlc which made the patch huge even if you werent going to buy it which is good or bad depending on preference

A) as mentioned before, even if you didn't buy Dlc you'll still be playing against those who did and have to be able to load that part of the game correctly hence the download regardless.

B) i think it is fair for an online focused game to expect you to be able to download patches.

C) get ps+ and patches automatically download eliminating your complaint.
