I thinks it safe to just wait for the announcement & specs to be revealed.

And devs won't know th full potential of a system till years after launch so I don't know why you people keep giving into this things.

If they mean launch games will look like Crysis 2 then that's good and graphics will become less important next gen physics & art style will matter more.

Actually, if those rumours and guesstimates are correct (for both PS4 and WiiU), than PS4's GPU is at least 6.5x WiiU.

Not that it matters, that won't put 240fps on 4k screen, unless it's Pong, as they joked in Pach-Attack.


Just for shits and giggles here is what video bandwith you will need to push 240 frames on to a screen from a console at 4K and 8bit color depth.

Pixels per frame - 8.847.360

Bandwith required - 2000 Mhz +

Bitrate - 51 Gbps

Currently the best HDMI cables are able to push 340 Mhz bandwith and 10.2 Gbps max.

So yeah, we probably won't see 240hz 4K in the next 10 years.

Game rendering 240 fps, but TV taking 60 fps = massive screen tearing

Select few 3D LCD monitors and old school CRT's can do true 120 frames per second but I doubt consoles will come with Dual Link DVI connection.


it was a comment taking out of context, he was talking about 4K res. my point is he didnt actually mean games running at 240FPS

I agree. It's basically the same thing as how we currently argue whether Forza or GT has better graphics.

People have their own tastes, despite that max crysis 2 requires stronger hardware than max crysis 1.

Flower 2: Black Ops has been confirmed.

That was a pretty good show.  I don't know why people hate the guy so much.  Of course, he basically said nothing we haven't known for a long time.

Everything running 1080p at 60fps is enough to be excited over with the next generation.  That's enough for me.

Neither do I. He's eminently likeable, even if he is always either completely wrong or stating the bleeding obvious. I like watching him talk, though!

But your source says that with the dx11 update "crysis 2 became one of the most visually striking tech advanced games in the world". Though I agree with you that the increased spec requirements wasn't necessarily because of better graphics. The reviewer does say the water is probably the best water they've ever seen and the bricks are tits.
