Correct. The first wave of Motion Plus games were also pushed that way.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Nintendo consoles just need Nintendo titles, the problem is that currently Wii U doesn't have Nintendo games which is ludicrous. In fact, I'm happy third parties can no longer make money on Nintendo systems, unfortunately when Wii was in its prime they made a huge amount of money on that console they despised.
By the way, back then, there wasn't a single article highlighting Wii beastly software sales. I only remember all that crap about third party titles not selling well, something blatantly false.
I apologize in advance for my bad english.

For instance, I remember that Microsoft ran constant ads for Final Fantasy XIII when it was released. It was a multi-platform game, but Microsoft was trying to steal market share of that game away from Sony. I was thinking that a game like Colonial Marines would be a great way to show off the gamepad while establishing Nintendo as a viable third-party destination. I just can't remember Nintendo running those kinds of ads. If the other two are doing it, and they are, then doesn't that put Nintendo at even more of a disadvantage, both in terms of third-party market share and in third-party publisher/developer relations? |
I don't know; maybe it's because nothing in the level of Final Fantasy XIII, that would warrant heavy advertisements, was released by third-parties on the Wii.

Hmmm, MH was a deal with Capcom, but maybe it counts. And I remember those motion plus games, they even came packaged with the accessory, was so surprised back then. Nintendo gave bundled sales to third-parties like EA's Grand slam tennis and the PS360 were rewarded with the flopping sequel.
