Ni No Kuni is definitely is one of my top RPG's of this gen,(perhaps all time) but as an owner of both Xenoblade and Ni No Kuni I will say Xenoblade isn't leaps and bounds over Ni No Kuni as some users have said(or atleast I'm assuming) and have played/own Ni No Kuni...

The only thing that pisses me off in Xenoblade the the occasional over-powered monster that comes from left field an annihilates your party!(and I'm not weak I'm literally mean a monster like level 70+ monster appears and wipes me out)the only thing that pisses me off about Ni No Kuni is the fact that Oliver doesn't learn any magic outside the main quest; except for Horace's riddles.(another thing is that damn blackjack hostess at the casino!!! I've never seen someone get so many 19/20/21 in a row in my life!!!)

the only edge I'd give to Xenoblade is its cast and i'd give the battle system to Ni No Kuni.

as for Ni No Kuni being the best RPG's in 2 decades? many would disagree(including me) I would put
Golden Sun 1&2
Final Fantsay IV
Final Fantasy VI
Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy X
Final Fantasy XII
Chrono Trigger
Parasite Eve
Xenogears
Legend of Dragoon
Persona 3 FES
Persona 4 Golden
Tales of Symphonia
Tales of the Abyss
Xenosaga 1-3(yeah I went there)
Shadow Hearts: Covenant
Grandia II/III
Radiant Historia
Crimson Gem Saga
Suikoden 1/3/4/5(I haven't played 2 :( )

WHAT!!!  You haven't played 2 and you liked 4??? What is wrong with you?

well if Sony or Konami will stop dicking around it put it on the PSN store I would able to enjoy 2....not paying $200 for a copy online :(

Not a chance, ive only played the DS NiNoKuni but i think the game is more style over substance, i could name a dozen or so Jrpgs this gen alone that i believe are better
2 decades? LOL no.

I just want to put this here. I won over 3 million chips in the casino. I'm a Platoon master.

Xenogears, not a discussion matter.

only the first disc :P

It went from the possibly the best JRPG of all time to a story book..... it was a missed master piece T_T

If you're someone that likes JRPG's for only the story.. (there are some) the 2nd disc could be seen as even better!

It wasn't really a game anymore though, and if you scroll up a bit, I think FF6 and fist disc of Xenogears are the best I've played in the last 2 decades so I do love it.

look at what I found O_O;

I'd be pretty pissed if they released it on PSN. I don't want my copy to depreciate in value.

xenoblade got good reviews, but because it's a wii exclusive, I'll probably never play it.

why?   the system costs just a little bit more than buying a brand new game, and there are plenty of good games on the system.  Never understood why people limit themselves to one system...

As this thread has pointed out, there are exclusive games just in the JRPG category on each system that are worth playing, let alone other categories...

Well in anyones defense.  Xenoblade probably costs more to acquire than the Wii console does.

Xenoblade is definetly worth the money. I bought a Wii 3 Months ago to play all the good titles I missed and Xenoblade is the Title that made it a good purchase it really suffers being on Wii though this game would be absolutely mindblowing on HD Consoles or PC those Vistas in HD and higher res textures and high poly objects would be stunning.

The Wii was 80  the game 30 new with 5 for a PS2 Controller adapter this game alone is enough to warrant the price for a Wii. Its about 25 more than Ni no Kuni Wizard Edition , Wii included, well worth the Price. 115 well spent imo.

I have enough backlogs of games to play on my PS3, Xbox360 and a gaming PC.  I don't doubt that there are plenty of games (such as Zelda wii) on the Wii that I would play, but I don't have the time.  I would essentially get a Wii to play Xenoblade, and for me, it's not worth the money.

Xenoblade is $90 used at Gamestop and $200+ on Amazon.  I definitely won't be playing this game.

Ni No Kuni is like watching a 16-bit RPG come to life and I loved it.

That said Grandia II has the greatest battle system ever conceived and sends me into euphoric joy when ever I play it.

EDIT: I just noticed how old this thread is now...
