Forums - Website Topics - It seems like some people here just want to talk about games, but what about business?

It's nice to know how well certain games, consoles and the industry as a whole are doing, but for the most part I find it pretty uninteresting.

If you were a minority, that's be great because you'd add to the flora of the site. But when it's become the majority.... it makes it kind of hopeless for those of us who wanted sales and business at the heart of the talk.

Around the Network

I suppose I'm part of the problem. I looked through my 30 threads and found maybe two that could be considered sales related.

One of the reasons I enjoy talking about games more than sales is that games discussions tend to reorient the conversation around software, and posters can find more common ground. Discussions about sales tend to degenerate into arguments over consoles, companies, brands, etc. There's nothing wrong with such discussions per se, but they sometimes attract people searching for a forum that allows them to dump on X console or Y company with impunity.

Sales discussions in which posters discuss business models, sales trends, geographic distribution, and other sales data are great. But very often such threads are created not to start a meaningful conversation, but rather to notch another victory against "the other."
