do i really need to explain this game when you a sound vet already knows how this goes profoo? one side (town) are essentially detectives trying to figure out who mafia is.
the other side (mafia) are here to deceive town into thinking they are mafia. and that's why i'm speaking of you having a role. i always think of you guys pulling shit out the air because of a hunch you may have about someone who may not b acting suspicious.
don't play coy mate. you know why i brought it up.
and profoo i haven't done the things i claim to have done, or tried to do effectively.

Just a bit confused. You said the mafia's job is to trick town into thinking they are [town?] (you said mafia in the bracketed space).
i used the bracket to point out whos doing what because i used the words "one side, and the other side." i could have avoided that confusions, but it keeps the conversation going. anything else?
Is that the case, or did you mean that mafia are trying to trick town into thinking other townies are mafia?
mafia are trying to get town to think that mafia are town. does that help?
And the part directly after I don't quite understand. You said you thought I was a power role because of this? Did you mean Mafia power role? And what's this about ''pulling shit out of the air? I expected that sentence to explain why you said I was a power role, but I'm not following.
most of your (the vets playing this game) conclusions for who is town or mafia is based on a hunch, a gut feeling.
i just like calling shit being pulled out of the sky.

No, I used the brackets to point out a mistake that I was looking for you to correct.
You originally wrote:
One side (town) is essentially detectives trying to figure out who is the mafia. (Note, these are parentheses, not brackets)
The other side (mafia) are here to deceive town into thinking they are mafia.
I bracketed the last part of the second sentence: "...into thinking they are [mafia]", because I'm asking you if you used the wrong word there. A bracket is used for a word that is subject to change or variability, as in, me asking if "mafia" should be substituted with "town".
A parentheses is used as an excerpt to provide additional clarifying information, which you used correctly.
My problem is that the sentence "The other side (mafia) are here to deceive town into thinking they are mafia." Doesn't make sense. Why would the mafia want to trick the town into thinking [the mafia] are mafia? The second problem I had with this sentence is that maybe the word "they" in the sentence was used incorrectly. Grammatically, if "they" referred to 'the town', then the word "themselves" should be used. So I'm asking what this sentence means.
Are you saying mafia are trying to trick town into thinking the town themselves are mafia? (mislynches)
Or are you saying the mafia are trying to trick town into thinking the mafia members are town? (which would indicate the incorrect word usage as the sentence should actually read: "The other side (mafia) are here to deceive town into thinking they are [town].")
"mafia are trying to get town to think that mafia are town. does that help?"
Ah ok, so you did in fact use the wrong word. Ignore the paragraphs above.
So, to put it all together, your quote reads as:
town want to find mafia
Mafia pretend to be town
That's why I said you have a role
I always think you (vets) are just pulling shit out of the sky
So....my new questions are:
1. The third sentence, "That's why I said you have a role", isn't explained by the previous 2, but you used the phrase "that's why".
'I was hungry, that's why I ate the turkey.'
The phrase, "That's why", says, "look previous for the reason why the following action took place".
But 'mafia pretend to be town' and 'town want to find mafia', doesn't explain why you said I have a role.
Worse, the following sentence, "I always think you (vets) are just pulling shit out of the sky" doesn't fit with any of the previous 3 sentences.
I just want to know what made you say I had a role? Because you think I'm town? Because only someone with a role would say "x" ?
