This information tells us that if the game requires PSEye functionality like Dance Central then it wont support remote play for Vita

I hope you didnt think that this somehoe confirmed that PSEye is required/mandatory

Even so, it would make sense to include it. 100% market penetration would mean standard video chat with friends and a inherently higher install base for Move-specific titles. And it would mean Move is less expensive, since the camera is allready purchased.

We shall see at E3

They can include it but i just dont want it to be mandatory. PSEye wasn't built around the PS4 like Kinect is for Xbox. It would be fine if Sony matched what MS can do with Kinect as a secondary option to use when we want to plug it up.

From what is known so far, PS4 just isn't PSeye focused like how Xbox is Kinect focused.

I just want my $399 PS4 then they can have a higher end bundle with PSeye included

Give me the PS4 bundled with Vita instead. I'll never use the PSeye

I find the inclusion of a camera in every next gen console to be a nice addition to the basic control inputs. Finally developers will have a chance to try new things with voice recognition, motion tracking, AR effects, and more with the knowledge that they have 100% potential market. All three companies can develop UI controls through out the life of the console as more and more people become used to the idea of gesture and voice controls for navigating the always growing world of content.

Just like cloud gaming, these cameras have massive potential to advance gaming and user experience. A lot can change in 8 years, and by the end of this gen, I think people will be asking how we did it without these two, not what were they thinking.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.

Yeah the hardware will do all the streaming and communication at no extra cost.
I'm curious though what it will mean for the requirements. There are all sorts of requirements for console games, overscan limitations, minimum font size, etc. Those are different on a 5" touch screen.

I guess those requirements could be fulfilled by the hardware.  It will be interesting to hear or see this in action at E3.

The hardware can't change the UI automatically but as the ps4 is the lead platform and since a tv screen is more limitting then a fixed size no overscan screen you hold in your hand, it should be fine.

I was thinking along the lines of MGS peace walker, that UI wasn't nice to use or look at on ps3. PS3/Vita cross buy games look a bit rough or overly angular on ps3, but I guess with full games it will be the other way around. Neatly downscaled from 1920x1080 to 960x540 for Vita. It would be cool if the hardware allowed a zoom feature.

I wonder if they'll have an ultimate PS4 + Vita bundle at launch. Although that would probably come to 699,-

If its official, I would be most interested in the Sony community reaction. Its not 100%, but some posters here have allready rationalized it and Sony is yet again the good guy for doing exactly what MS is doing.

Apples, oranges.

Ps4 Eye won't be required to be always on, there is extremely little chance it will be an integral part of the OS.
Cost wise, Ps eye +  Move controller was already a lot cheaper then Kinect. Kinect 2.0 uses more advanced tech, ps4 eye only adds a second cheap webcam and most likely won't ship with a move controller.

We'll know at E3 anyway, then let's start complaining.

I'm more worried about the requirement that every game needs to support remote play. What is that going to do for nice crisp 1080p UI's if they need to work on 960x544. And what about the missing shoulder buttons on Vita. The experience is completely different on 60" or 5".

My counter would be why bother.  If developers cannot depend on every home having at least one move controller than they pretty much will develop for none.  It limits the device and make it so that support will be mininal.  One thing I have to give to MS and Nintendo is that they take risk and go all in.  They will reap the rewards or burn but at least they do not try to stay in the middle.  Sony on the other hand likes to stay safe.  They like the middle but it can make so so products because they never commit to them.
