Forums - Gaming - Ubisoft: "The only reason for [Rayman's] delay is to release on multiple platforms."

I guess the Ninty-only fans now somewhat know how the PS3 fans felt during E3 08. except that the FF13 announcement was WAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY worse than this whole Rayman thing

Was FF13 finished but delayed more than half a year just so the 360 port could release at the same time?

I believe it was but i cant really remember

I remember seeing an article that was talking about what new info they had got from Square before the game released. They were like "we just wrapped up the PS3 version of the game and now we are starting the 360 version" or something like that. It was hard to really tell because the PS3 version was already going to release in Japan 1st on PS3. It wasn't like they just flat out admitted that the 360 version would hold the PS3 FF13 versions release date back like this whole Rayman thing is admitted.

If anything, we just know that Square wasted a lot of time developing FF13 for that long and to only then cut so much content from it that it could be its own game just to fit on 3 Xbox 360 discs

As I see it, Nintendo fans have been put in a very serious predicament. Per my analysis, you have two options:
1. Take this insult and buy Rayman when it comes out on Wii U.
2. Boycott Rayman (or Ubisoft in general) to punish Ubisoft.

Here's why Nintendo loses either way:
You take option 1, big companies like Ubisoft see you are willing to let them get away with this and continue to walk all over you.
You take option 2, big companies conclude that Nintendo fans just don't want to buy third party games on Nintendo consoles and Nintendo gets even less third party support.

Now you see why the Rayman dev called this industry "shitty"? It's all about the $$ with the big companies.

Again... makes no fucking sense to delay WiiU's release.

They probably feel releasing it on the Wii U first will impact the sales of the PS360 release. Lets be honest, the Wii U is not going to be the bread and butter for this game.

Personally I"m not the least bit surprised by this news. Making it a Wii U exclusive was ridiculous to begin with.

this is one of the few things I will agree with and LOL at punishing Wii U owners who bought the system for THAT game. Please, the number of people who might have actually done that is so small its insignificant, hell people didnt want to buy Origins at full price, what the hell makes anyone think that they would have bought a whole other console for it.

i cant see the picture so how about using actually words?

We've already proved that theory right, many-a-times. We can just do it again!

That's what we get for thinking that we're actual gamers. We should remember that we Nintendo fans are blessed for every single sainted third party game that even graces our unworthy devices, and we were foolhardy to deprive the consumers of the hallowed PS3 and 360 for any game, let alone a Rayman game.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

LMAOOOOOO!

I understand the fact that it's not exclusive when they originally claimed that it was but did you really think that this would not happen? It's been a multiplat game for a long time

I also honestly think that this could've atleast been a timed exclusive if Ninty would've payed the devs. of course Ninty is probably still on that whole "we don't need to do anything extra" like they were with the whole Accomplishment thing with not making it mandatory in all games off the bat. I don't like that stuff either but this is just the way they have to do it because of the heavy competition.

Ninty should've just scooped it up to release on time since it wont be like Ninty held the 360 and PS3 fans up from playing it by releasing earlier

Fair enough, have fun with that. I will be getting the game myself, maybe not at launch
