Gaming journalism is an absolute disgrace.
You would NEVER see this kind of behaviour in most other branches of journalism.

And if you did you could be sure the responsible journalist would get his ass handed to him. I'm pretty sure nothing will happen at IGN...

IGN died when Matt and Bozon left.
so kind of ironic that this guy is writting struggles to remain relevant when IGN hasn't been relevant for years.

Y'know, this is only an article on a website. Take a chill pill and enjoy your games.
"As of the end of 2012, Wii U had been averaging sales of 612,000 units globally per week."
That was written on February 7, 2013 - ridiculous. Not the end of 2012. What was it selling as of February 7, 2013? VERY badly. 28,000 per week globally. Thus calling for price cuts from investors and other corporate/stock personnel.
So they lost Rayman Legends? I'm surprised everyone hasn't just bailed out of that sinking ship, goodness gracious. It's over - Wii is done, Playstation 4 is coming, move on.
Moderated (the last two sentences specifically),
Mr Khan

Fair. I tend to get very angry about people who do bad things and just get away with it.
I do apologize to everyone, although i still hope this guy got a stern warning from IGN's chief editors

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I think the Gamecube and XBox lost the gen before it even began. The PS2 was a behemoth the likes of we'll never see again. The PS3 and Wii U comparison is valid. They both struggled in the early going. However, you're right about the PS3 getting a lot of support. You have the 360 to thank for that. |
No, if anything, a large part of PS3s struggles is due to the Xbox 360.
I still say the PS3 and Wi U comparison is invalid. Sure they both struggled at first, but PS3's amazing 3rd party support combined with their 1st party efforts made for a competitive system. It's safe to say the Wii U won't have anywhere near the level of 3rd party support the PS3 had. We're already seeing signs of this. Where is Dead Space 3 for Wii U? DMC? Bioshock Infinite?

Smash is debatable. Mario Kart was just a spinoff that got really, really big - but it's still Mario IP |
How is Smash debatable? Smash Bros on the N64 was the first in the series. It's a new IP. Whether the idea and concept behind the game is original is debatable, whether it is a new IP or not, isn't. Same goes for Mario Kart. No, the Mario character isn't new, but the Mario Kart game was.
I think the guy totally hyped up the article when he tweeted that news was coming. There is just no way someone in his position didn't know fans would get excited about news specifically about a console, especially when the console is have a bit of a dry spell atm.
That being said I don't necessarily disagree with what he actually wrote. I think the Wii U will be just fine and the article seems to support that towards the end. But yeah, he shouldn't have tweeted about this article being the "very interesting" news lol.
