Based on that, why wouldn't the cheaper Surface RT work for you? 9 hours of battery life and free Office 2013 are awesome.

I heard that it doesn't run the main flavor of Windows 8. Could I install steam on it for example?

I'm just afraid that I would be limited in what applications are compatible for it.

No traditional desktop apps are compatible with RT, so you could run stuff that comes out of their app store (which includes games like Zen Pinball, Angry Birds, Cut the Rope, a tablet version of Hydro Thunder, etc.). Steam wouldn't work, because it downloads traditional desktop programs.

On the other hand, the Intel HD 4000 GPU in the Surface Pro (and most ultraportables for that matter) isn't going to be up to the task of newer 3d PC games at any settings above low, so keep that in mind.

"Like most systems with Intel HD Graphics 4000 GPUs, the Surface Pro is good for watching movies and playing some mainstream games. On the 3DMark 11 benchmark, the Pro scored 424, on a par with the W700 (412), but well below other Windows 8 Ultrabooks such as the Aspire S7 (608) and the category average of 725.

When playing "World of Warcraft," the Pro averaged 31 frames per second with the effects on autodetect and the resolution set to 1366 x 768. While lower than the ultraportable average of 42 fps, that's on a par with the Aspire S7 (31 fps), and better than the W700 (21 fps). Increasing the resolution of the Pro to its native 1080p dropped the frame rate to an unplayable 17 fps."

I would LOVE to get one, get a upgrade to my crusty ass laptop.... i just cant afford one :( if it gets a price drop i'd grab one quick times. the tablet/laptop hybid with a proper keyboard is just sexy and cool.

Okay, that's helpful.

And yeah I would need to be able to install usual windows apps.

Not getting it. I already have the Surface RT and its perfect for what it is.

For my full Windows 8 fix, I found my device...

Should be out in a few months and fix all complaints people have about the surface (battery issues, can't be used in lap). For cheaper too...

The current Yoga is awesome! Is this a new version of it?

i won't get it because i don't buy those tablets/half pc-tablets or whatever. smartphone and pc are enough for me and everything else would be a waste of money for me. i also own only a weak notebook because i don't really use notebooks but maybe 3 days a year i  need it.

i rather buy a new Laptop from Toshiba or Asus, it would be cheaper and more powerfull.

But if you want a all in one then get Surface Pro its probably the best option for all in one devices though it way too expensive.

Only rich people will buy it and thats it. it will probably sell a few milions but Surface Line needs a 200e Tablet so people can jump in.

Those Tablets cost way too much, its unbeliavable.

Yeah its an 11 inch model that is running full windows 8 and comes with i5 or i7. The Yoga is awesome but I want smaller screen. 13.3 inch works for laptop mode but for tablet is kind of nuts... :)

If this has 5 hour battery life or greater...sold!

Cost of the Surface RT = Cost of a new iPad or comparable Android tablet. Cost of most professional ultrabooks >= cost of surface pro.

Tablets are usless compared to Laptops or Pcs... they wont last much longer.
