But you miss one tiny detail. Because of their excessive optimism they will never accept reality. Sure they may be upset for a few days, but soon they will latch on to another future event and hail it as the second coming of Elvis himself. So your attacks will only be useful for an incredibly short duration. The rest of the time will be spent in ignorant elation and hype of the next event, until that fails. rince and repeat. In the end, our gross happiness should handedly overcome our gross butthurtness.
The plan is foolproof. You kill one dream and we'll just move on to the next. You cannot stop it, just embrace it.
