I can't wait for the PS meeting, I'm gonna get up early just to watch it.

Isn't it being live streamed at night?

Yeah, if you have a 360 you can watch it live from the IGN video app.  That's what I did for E3 last year.  It felt kind of weird watching Sony's press conference on a competitor's console, but it was nice watching it on TV instead of having to sit on my uncomfortable computer chair at my desk.

The Screamapillar is easily identified by its constant screaming—it even screams in its sleep. The Screamapillar is the favorite food of everything, is sexually attracted to fire, and needs constant reassurance or it will die.

Not sure if racing games are going to get the masses excited for a new console. Maybe I'm wrong? But it's good Sony is at least planning to show at least two PS4 games. Just showing the console without any software utilizing it's graphical capabilities would only serve to disappoint people and lead to a lot of negative press before E3.

Gran Turismo games will. Sony's biggest franchise.

I hope evolution also brings a quality Motorstorm title to the PS4 after this new racer is done

I'm loving the love that Sony seems to be showing for a genre other than the FPS

I truely feel like this is going to be a great gen to come......as long as that PS4 is launched at $399 that is..

atleast we can say they will get the racing fans locked down

The PS4 could be the home for car/racing fans around the world

hopefully it will have your car combat fix in Twisted Metal PS4

it will have your real driving simulator fix in Gran Turismo

it will have your Kart racing fix in games like LBPK and Mod Nation Racers

it will have your off-road racer in Motorstorm

it COULD have your futuristic racer in games like Kinetica and Wipeout

^^ hopefully we will see all of these in the PS4's racing library from Sony

Not a single Ridge Racer joke on the first page, you guys have lost your touch.

Gotta love the start of a new gen, lots of new IP's, some that will fail utterly and some that will see monumental success. It's a time of real change and experimentation.

If we look at this gen Sony made exclusive deals with Factor 5, Ninja Theory, Evolution Studios, Insomniac, United Front Games, Quantic Dream, Sucker Punch, Bandai Namco, Cohort Studios, Relentless Software, Coldwood Interactive, Sanzaru Games, Lightbox Interactive, Zindagi Games, Supermassive Games, Ready At Dawn, Mass Media Inc., Eat Sleep Play, Nihilistic Software, Level 5, Game Republic, From Software and Clap Hanz.

We tend to focus purely on first party studios on this site, even though a massive amount of content comes from second or third party developers. Last gen there were some big projects from third parties early on for the PS3, so even though Sony have acquired more studios, I'd still expect some big third party exclusives in the first year or two after launch of the PS4.

That's not it lol... I just think gamers after PS2 era really don't know what Ridge Racer is.

The franchise was popular in 1993 with the Nanco Arcades and became even more popular as the launch title for PS1 in 1994... the reveiwers praised the graphics and audio never saw before in a racer game... a milestone for the industry.

The PS1 received a lot of more Ridge Racer titles... and after that is common a new console release received a Ridge Racer launch title.

Ridge Racer 64 - N64
Ridge Racer V - PS2
Ridge Racer 6 - 360
Ridge Racer 7 - PS3
Ridge Racer 3D - 3DS
Ridge Racer Vita - Vita

The game is not more that important for the industy because a lot of race games evolved and revolutionized the game industry... and Ridge Races just continue to do the same think everytime for every console game.

But it is classic... and expected in every launch console announce... so that's why the people go crazy when before the announce of the PS3 the Kaz shouted Riiiiiiiiiiiidge Racer... so time to PS3 reveal.

Everybody here expect a new Ridge Racer launch title for PS4 and Kaz shouting again... classic.
