Forums - Nintendo - Anybody here have Denpa men:They came by wave?

And is it good? I played the demo but not sure whether to get or not.

Considering that I don't see Bravery Default coming anytime soon, I could use a old-school RPG after Fire Emblem.

It can get repetitive, its battle system is basic and equips isn't in-depth as I'd hope.
The skills of Denpa's varies randomly, and they can be caught anywhere. A Denpa is statically designated to a very specific area. Overall, it's not a bad game; bear in mind it's only $10.

For the price, it's a great game.
It looks easy but actually can be punishing if you don't exploit elemental weaknesses.

Grind heavy old school type of RPG without much in way of story.

One thing I didn't realize to exploit early in the game is that you can get the QR codes for certain Denpa men types online just searching. I went out and was pulling out my 3DS in spots I knew a lot of Radio or wifi were around to try to pick up types I didn't have. I've yet to beat the final levels but I've got up to the main Denpa at level 50 before discovering this fact and I am no back tracking to grind up the ones I got with the QR codes. But the game is enjoyable once you get a good squad together and word of warning don't be afraid to use the 'Barrier' item or run from some normal enemies you know have wide effect attacks. Quickest way to get your party killed is to think you can just over power everything in your path.

I loved how the demo allowed you to move over data, as I was able to pick up right where I left off when I got the game. It is a colorful and some of the battles even the normal enemies can prove engaging and challenging affairs.

Hate how the Ghost type of enemies are immune unless you have their elemental weakness. certain items or clothes however.

ive yet to try the demo :p

I played the demo and I didn't really understand when the dungeon was supposed to end. I didn't have enough heal items either, so I didn't get very far.

That is why you have to grind to get your levels up. Early on, ganging up on one enemy at a time is a core strategy to survive but it is the later dungeons where things get trickier as to which enemy to target first based on what you know they can do to your party with their attacks. Always need at least one healer as well or you are screwed once the potions stop healing enough HP to make a difference.

The demo was really nice, but the difficulty of the game seems to be pretty high. I barely managed to defeat the wolf (I think it was one, it's been a while since I played the demo), and that was just the first boss...

If you got the patience to grind a lot, then it should be a good game for you. (as long as you like pokemon or rpg's in general). The guys over pretty much summed it up.

Isn't the sequel out in Japan already? Or coming soon?
