every yr.we have these hreads. didn't we have these threads just eary last month. the reasons you listed is why i love/hate Sony. these threads are getting redundant.

Why I love Sony-

They consistantly try to out do themselves instead of only workin in the vain to make money. Sure, they are a multibillion dollar company(less so much these days) but they spend a lot of time just trying to be creative and I love that. Many of their games stimulate me mentally, a requirement for me to enjoy anything. Stuff like Heavy Rain would have never happened without them and I love them for it. I didn't feel I became a gamer till I got my first PS1, and they have kept me around ever since. Sony Playstation convinced me to go into game design as well.

Why People Hate Sony-

Like some have said, its not exactly Sony they hate, rather the fans of Sony they despise. The thing is, many Sony fans come off "Better than thou" to other console affiliates and they find it aggrevating. I accept this is something many think of me as well as I am a very opinionated person and will often speak freely about things I loathe. There is still some pint up resentment from Nintendo Fans from the PS1 era where their fav was dethroned instantly by the new kid on the block. Many felt jaded by stolen exclusives (like PS3 fans do now). It feels like over due payback for some of them so they relish in every possible failure of Sony. As for 360 fans, a bit of the same, plus the added bonus they resist the fact they bought into a shoddy product and an opinionated person such as myself takes every opportunity to remind them of it. Also its kind of "Rich kid syndrome where people hate what they can't/ or just don't have. That is why the stellar-ness of PS3 exclusives will be frequently downplayed as if  they are of the normal ilk by opposing fans. I don't kid myself into fully believin that my opinion isn't also skewed by similar outlying factors, nevertheless I feel PS fan's vocal issues with NIN and MS are usually pretty founded while the inverse is not.

Love- everything but PS+. Hate-Poor Marketing. And two things not on your list-the new store and how they force you to use the YOUTUBE app even if you go to the website(though i found ways around it)

yeah just changing the discussion as you like since you were wrong, yeah that works out just fine! even so, heavy rain, killzone2/3, GoW3/A, Uncharted1/2/3, gran turismo, resistance1/2/3, the last of us, beying two souls, infamous1/2, littlebigplanet1/2. if you dont consider killzone 3 to be big budget then gears2/3 and judgment arent either. niether is forza4 or horizon. your arguement either way you put it in invalid. and thats a fact. i know i seem relentless and maybe rude(not my intention at all!) but what your saying is simply wrong, and its a fact. if you feel the quality of the games isnt good thats your opinion. but stating they dont have big budgets is something you are wrong about 

they treating to customers right part comes down to dedication to gamers plus the way they handle their products, they dont try to milk the customers wallet like MS do, for example the openess on the ps3 to some extent, you can use any HDD you want or any bluetooth headset, unlike MS where you have to buy overpriced ones from MS. another example is that they ensure quality, sony would never rush a product to the market like MS with the 360 and cause the RRoD fiasco. sony also doesnt fuck around with DLC like EA does. 

i dont know why people dont consider heavy rain to be big budget, that game used a brand new engine for the game, great graphics and it pushed boundries when it came to evoking emotions from the player. the game also had 20 different endings. all that doesnt come cheaply. and now beyong two souls they built a new engine from scratch even though financially it doesnt make much sense but QD wanted to push the envelop with Beyond they made it. did people see what that new engine can do? did you guys even see that tara demo? or how great beyond looks? thats not adding to the fact that they got elen page on board to. point is, heavy rain and beyong are both big budget

As for the above discussion, there is no getting around it that Sony puts out far more AAA budget games and to much higher fanfare than anything on MS or NIN's consoles. This is because many of Sony's IPs are fresh,inventive, and well made. The other two companies are assuredly raking in more money for sticking to tried and tested formula, but that is what makes a far more important asset to the industry if you ask me. If it were up to them, we would be drowned out by the same IPs every year or bi-yr.

The unfortunate truth to this tho is that Sony will be following suite here on out. I just hope that doesn't mean them doing less risk taking on new stuff like Beyond,Puppeteer, etc.

PS. An interesting anecdote to remember is MS and Sony will both put in $50+mill into there games each year, yet they allocate differently. MS spends maybe 10-15mill on the actual game. The rest is spent on Marketing the hell out of that single title. Sony Will make 2 $25mill games, and not spend a dime on marketing them. One is good for gamers but bad for business, the other is vice versa.

I love them because they were my first big boy console back in the 2000's and the showed me that there were more adult games to play. Until then I only knew Nintendo and a little bit of SEGA (only sonic) but I've owned every Sony system until my ps3 ylod now I'm just going to get a ps4 at launch instead of a new ps3. Now the Sony fans are a different story lol.

Just realized you have X as your most hyped game. Man that game should be good.

I need to preface this with the fact I just came to Sony gaming about two months ago, so I might have not experienced all the great about Sony gaming:

Things I like:
-Blu ray player
-Free online gaming
-Region Free Console- very important to me because I live in South Korea and when I go home to Canada, I'm taking my PS3 I bought here with a me along with Korean gf
-The best mix of game genres on consoles
-Playstation Plus
-The Playstation support

Things I don't like
-The incompetent leadership of the company for the last 6 years
-Bad Marketing
-The Vita memory cards
-Letting Nihilistic messed up the COD and Resistance games
-Screwing up the launches of PS3 and Vita

There is probably more for both lists, but I'm new to the Sony brand.
