Due to the recent obvious sarcastic and borderline trolling threads such as this one by a recently banned user, I'm hear to speak to you about "trolls". 

Now, take a couple seconds to study this diagram. 

Study it? Okay good. 

You all know what a troll is. They are annoying and hurt the overall intelligence of this site, as well as millions of others. But in speaking purely on Vgchartz, it hurts our credibility. We have many smart and responsible users on this site that embrace in heated yet respectful debates all day and it really isn't fair to them to put op with trolls because somebody decides to feed them. What exactly do I mean by feeding? 

Exibit A: Here is a post in response to what the "recently banned user" posted in his thread (see above) 
In this post, the user took selected parts of the original OP and argued each point in-depth and in a respectable manner. HOWEVER. This is exactly what you SHOULD NOT DO when you encounter a troll. Trolls do not go by logic and reason, instead relying on sarcasm and angry reactions all mixed in with a hint of pure evil.

So what should have his response have been? If you can't repond to a troll with logic and reason, what are we left with but nothingness? 

WE HAVE OUR ANSWER PEOPLE

The moral of the story: The key is nothing. DO NOT FEED THESE TROLLS. By responding to such obviously angry and sarcastic threads you only give you more life and energy, thus increasing the number of "troll" users on our beloved site. It's up to you guys to show some restraint and read these threads to see if they merit a response or not. It won't kill off all the trolls, but it will limit them. For example; that original thread that got the "troll" banned? Here is his new account. Already banned (shout out to axumblade for his great and speedy modding ability). Who knows how long until he makes a new account, but hopefully we will learn from our mistakes and choose to just ignore them.

Thank you for reading and hopefully our site can become troll-free one day! One can only hope.....

*DISCLAIMER* - Not every sarcastic thread is banable. When handled correctly and not putting down game companies/fans/systems, a good funny thread is good once in a while. You must be the judge of weather it is respectful or not.

But... I do not agree with the sarcastic thread (the one you linked). Not saying he was not making this up but there is a possibility he could actually had a very bad experience (it happens :)) and I doubt it is the reason why he gets banned.
