Forums - Sony - PlayStation 4 Should Focus on Innovation, Not Power

Focusing on the core gamer is a reliable market, especially these days. Casuals are a mirage, now that they've had a taste of $1 games on iOS and Android phones/tablets, good luck getting them to pay $50-$60.

Sony Playstation - 100 million sold

Sony Playstation 2 - 150 million sold

Sony Playstation 3 - 70+ million sold to date (probably will finish around 100 million also)

I mean this is a pretty damn consistent product line. They just have to make sure they're not eating monstrous losses on the PS4 for too long and the console is a reasonable price (ie: $399.99).

This guy is just worried about the price of the console if it turns out a beast. I can assure him that it won't cost more than $599 AUD this time around.

Price, less games, and multi-plat that is better than your expensive system.3rd party PS exclusive that went multi-plat. FF, DMC and etc.

to summarize: Price and games was the big factor.(bolded the most important)

Now fast forward to 2013 PS3 is selling great right now because of what? Games No matter how innovative the console is, if they can't back it up with games then it will be useless.

Sony should make the monster of all monsters!

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

No thanks.

I would like to come back to this thread, when PS3 is just a couple of millions shy from Wii's total LT sales. Moreover who says there's no focus on Innovation. We'll know with time.

For Sony, innovation comes from ideas implemented in its games, not the hardware specs.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Won't happen because Sony lost its way since 20-

@riderz13371

That gif is incredible.

innovation is just a fancy word for gimmick in this article, they want Sony to come with the next gimmick that won't stay after the next gen

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.
