Forums - Gaming - Would it be smart if Sony/Nintendo would put their exclusives on PC

If Nintendo wants to stop selling hardware, then they should go for it.

The Wii U already seems to be helping on that front...

Microsoft already puts many of their first party games on PC after a few years when they stop selling anyways.  Would it be smart if sony/Nintendo did the same?  Can you imagine games like Heavy rain, god of war, and zelda on steam.  They would sell a crazy amount.  I think it would be a smart decision myself but that is just me.

Could they do that as they'd have to function with Windows?

I'm just amazed that most MS exclusives don't tend to appear on Windows. That one would seem like a no-brainer.

What is your valid point aexactly?  I said very clearly in the OP after years which includes PS2 and old nintendo titles.  Not just titles that is on current consoles.

Fable 3, Gears of War, Alan Wake was all allowed to go to PC which is in this generation.  Then you have older titles like Halo 1, 2, maybe 3 coming soon, and fable 1.  All of these games sell well so what would be bad about bringing ratchet and clank, jak and daxeter, god of war 1&2 from the PS2 to PC?  Or old Super Mario Bros, Donkey King Kountry, etc.  The only thing i could see coming from this is more profits for games that potentially dfoesnt sell anymore.   You are the one not making any valid point on why it is a bad idea to not do something so go ahead and give me reasons to why this is a horrible idea.  I never said bring Super Mario galaxy or uncharted 3 to PC.  I said older titles that are no longer selling.

come on give it up. the first Gears is the same case as the first xbox titles: there was not a big enough established gamer base on the console counterpart so they didn't have much to lose.

what you are describing is a sad sell out, halo 3 on the pc would be a sad sell out. halo 3 is 360's identity ! the PC is a piracy black whole and i already explained how unlike xbox games porting sony and nin titles is much more expensive and most of the time in bad quality (dark souls)

whatever im done

So selling 6m for gears is not a big establishement?  Wow ok, you officiolly no ver little.  P.S. it sold well over 4m by the time the PC version came out. Actually i think it had alrady sold 5m.

Halo 3 is no longer selling and they have halo 4 still.  no reason to keep it only on X360 as it is no longer a system seller.  Halo 4 is.  Steam has brought profits to many PC games so the whole piracy thing is gettng old.

And yes you are done because you have no points other than you think PC has a lot of piracy.

my point was that the first gears was an early 360 title when the gamer base was not as large and don't make fun of my dyslexia

Doesnt matter.  It sold well and they decided to put it on PC.  I'm assuming yu are talking about my typos.  Look all I'm asking is if you think it would be a good idea or not.  You obviously think it is a bad idea so you should have just said that with a well thought out comment and I wuld have never aruged with you in the first place.

Not really, because the PC market suffer a lot more with piracy than the console market.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

You should have stopped when i told you to.

You said games that no longer sell, Gears was actually selling since it was ported on the PC only a year after its 360 release . You said in order to make a profit, Gears sold kinda bad on the PC.

And above all why is gears a bad example ? CAUSE THERE WAS NO GEARS 2 ON THE PC

Go look at the sales of gears of war 1.  It was dead by the time it got released on PC.  Gears is very front loaded. Does not have legs.  And it was released as a game to sell windows live.  Fable 3 and Fable 1 did very well this year.

Make them linux exclusives

Sony might consider doing it because right now then need to be looking at every option to get there company turned around. As for Nintendo, if they did that it would crater their market share because a lot of people buy a console from them to play their games, so if can get the games some where else....
