The primary factor most unrealist people seem to ignore is that Sony is not in a strong financial position, and for them to be successful they have to produce a relatively inexpensive system that can be sold at a price consumers will be happy with ($400 or less) without losing significant amounts of money for Sony.
The technology may exist for Sony's engineering team to produce a system that is 10 or 20 times the performance of the PS3, but Sony can not afford to do subsidize a system that is that expensive to make it successful so it is an awful strategy. Below 4 times the performance of the PS3 is also a dead end for Sony because it will be difficult to sell their system to existing PS3 fans with such a small improvement. So, 6 to 8 times the performance of the PS3 is the most likely range for the PS4.
At the likely performance range of the PS4, there is a trade-off between higher frame-rates, higher resolutions, and more detail compared to PS3 games; and I think it is far more likely that games will be at 720p@30fps to get a big visual jump than be at 1080p@60fps (or higher) with almost no visual upgrades.
Is it that hard to read?
CAPABLE OF, doesn't mean it will.
Also, you don't need very expensive hardware for that (depending on the game)

Yeah, that's gonna be his excuse when only some small and unintersting PSN games are going to run with 240fps or at 4k^^
Every generation the FPS has always been around 20 - 60 FPS, hows it possible to do 4 - 12x that amount while running a higher graphical game?
I would like to see the next generation of consoles go into 90 - 120 FPS, but wouldn't anything above that be useless anyway, since our TVs would need refresh rates of 60 Hertz to be able to output those frames?

I'm being realistics... the performance of the PS4 and Nextbox will surprise everyone here.

it depends on his view of Hyperrealistic blah blah blast processors at 240fps at 2160p is like, in my view point, noway, but he's ancient and might still live in the Apple I days so it might be possible in his happy world.

| Munkeh111 said: No it won't! It might be able to do 1080p 60FPS, but I doubt much more |
1080p at 30fps if the leaked specs are right.
Either way what Pachter has said about 240 frames is just retarded.

That is so naive. He's raising peoples expectations to a ridiculous level so that people will be disappointed. he sleeps with MS.
