Maybe in the official organizational names, but in Japan it's almost always called in common speech サッカー (sakkaa), a direct port from "soccer".

No, you both are wrong, it is called either American Football or European Football(Soccer) - the real Football can only be found on New Zealand.
Srsly, European Football is the only one that applies foots to balls on a regular timescale that is less than minutes, so fu world.

Can't say I have a definitive favourite club, but since I am playing for a club, let's go with FC Kärnten (the real, more than 50 year old one, not the fake one that was founded a few years ago and went bankrupt again)
It's true in Japan most people say soccer to this day, because of the influence the USA had. However, it's slowly changing and some sports commentators and other people are starting to call it by its true name. I always make sure to correct them.

Cool, I can see that. But do you know about some of the other Asian countries? It could be that Japan is just different from the rest |
Chinese: 足球 (zúqiú) from my rudimentary knowledge of Chinese, and it's actually the base of the antiquated Japanese word 蹴球 (shuukyuu).
Korean: 축구 (chuggu) from Google yay.
Any Chinese or Koreans in the house? lol

This should make it clear!
And sorry about the white space at the top, it seems to be part of the picture....
