He was Battle system designer... I know big difference lol. But this puts us back to my original statement. The people that worked on FFVIII FFX and FFXII should work on the next 2 or 3. Includes Ito,Nomura, impossible to have Sakaguchi..., Yatsumi Matsuon, etc.

Like I said, production team 1 made Final Fantasy VIII and X and XIII, they're currently busy with Lightning dress up game and Versus to be working on the next FInal Fantasy. Rumour has it Production Team 4 is working on this new title. Ito is the current head of Production Team 4 since Matsuno left (Though he may have returned since he left Level 5 apparently). Nomura is part of Production Team 1. I still don't see any info on Nomura being battle system designer, but I haven't played through the game in two years so I don't recall the credits.
So the guy who directed three of the best, most influential games in the series is quietly working on a way to save Final Fantasy from irrelevance?
I hope so. Final Fantasy needs a severe kick in the pants. At this point, the franchise is wallowing in its own excesses.

With FF10 HD I think that game will also be a downloadable title, thus you can play it on PS4, Xbox 720, Wii U as well as Xbox 360 and PS3. So I don't think it matters when it comes out. Honestly man, I think these consoles are done. The next generation of consoles is happening in 2013/2014. If we look at FF12, the sales were less than FF10s because Sqaure released the game so late for the PS2, when the Xbox 360 already came out. I don't see them releasing FF15 when the PS4. 720, Wii U are on the market. Thus i think they will use the next generation of consoles to relaunch the brand, and to leave the FF13 series as a memory on the last generation of consoles. Maybe a 2015 release for the 15th numbered installment of the series? I know they said KH3 and FF13 Versus were coming to PS3; but they also said FF13 would be a Sony exclusive, and that game is now multiplatform. I can see FF 13 Versus coming out for the PS3 early 2014. But I can see that as the last FF game they will bring out for this generation of consoles. That being said FF13 Versus has spent 6 maybe 7 years in development? Bearing in mind its a spin off, it coming very late in the console cycle, and its coming to a series (FF13) where less than half of the consumers bought the sequel (FF13-2), I'm sceptical on whether SE will risk launching a game that took them 7 years to develop in those circumstances. Personally I think the sales might be embarassing for them. Its possible they will release it as a launch title for the PS4/720. E3 will tell us. We suspected FF15 would be announced last year with good evidence for that. But its possible Square delayed that announcement so they could annouce FF15 in conjunction with the PS4/720 reveal. That way they can relaunch the FF brand on a new era of consoles. Thats what I think FF15 will be. As for FF14, no idea whats going on with that. I don't think they've even released the PS3 version yet? |

Galvanizer said: Nomura wasn't "Battle System Designer" of FFVIII, that was indeed Ito. Nomura was "Character Designer & Battle Visual Director" of FFVII and FFVIII. He basically directed how battles would look. |
So Nomura was tha asshat that decided Eden's summon needed to be a minute and a half long... and make no sense!

the back to the future hype train.
Galvaniser, I haven't quoted your posts because at the moment I can't quite edit or quote properly.
But as I'm sure we've all heard FF13V could be heading to PS4. I can understand that because FF13-2 sold less than half of what FF13 sold. FF13-3 (Lighting Returns) will most likely sell less than that.
Sqaure Enix could probably release the game next year on PS3. I'm assuming after 7 years the game is finished or nearly finished. However I think Yochi Wada knows that releasing a game like FF13V at the end of the console cycle where less than half the fans returned for the sequel, then the game will not be entering favourable conditions.
I think its a good marketing move for Square Enix, but its bad for the fans who bought a PS3 who thought FF13V would be coming within the first few years. If they're smart they will release FF13V for the PS3 and they will release another version for the PS4. Because not everyone will buy a PS4 straight away.
Kingdom Hearts 3, I honestly have no idea if this game is even in development. From what I've heard its possible the reason they didn't get round to KH3 is because developers from FF13V had to be partitioned to the FF13 team. With that in mind I think FF15 is too late at this point. The next gen will start properly by late 2014.
I wouldn't want FF15 to come out next year anyway. FF12 came out too late in the PS2's life cycle. It had no chance of matching FF10s sales. They didn't give the game a good chance despite it being a renovation of the series. If they release FF15 like FF12, the game deserves the same chance FF13 got, the chance FF12 didn't get. Releasing it early in the next console generation will give FF15 a better chance than what FF12 got. Which is what I want for FF15.
